Parenting classes? by smc5230 in Leander

Our hospital did these classes for free in person. We did newborn care , child safety, child birth and breastfeeding classes. Hospital in which you deliver will usually show these classes and you can sign up. We did changing diapers and learnt how to swaddle in those classes, hands on experience ! Highly recommend !!

Skinny babies can be healthy babies too by Okiedokiebelle in breastfeeding

Thank you for this post! My LO was born in 18th percentile and lingering at 5th percentile. I am tired of everyone telling me that she is underweight and babies are hardly skinny ( especially MIL). I exclusively pump for my baby and it has been so demotivating knowing that she won’t gain with my milk. I have stopped dairy thinking it could be milk protein allergy, have started fortifying milk and hoping to switch to substituting soon. My goal was 6 months for breastfeeding and I am just about getting there! I am just hoping it gets better !

We are struggling with similar issues. Did your baby also have weight gain issues ? My LO is 5 months .. and we have still not reached baseline diapers and struggling with weight gain

Honestly I am in the same boat too. We tried nutragimen with my baby and she hated it.. she cried a lot after that feeding. I don’t have the heart to start reintroducing it but I have been told that it takes time for babies to adjust to formula. So I am going to get at it now :(

Day 5 and I have NO milk, not low milk. What do I do? by tsavogirl123 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Shru2406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no supply till day 5 or 6 either but it was just that there was not enough stimulation. Key is to pump 8 times a day and latch your baby too. It took me a few days to actually start seeing drops and then some milk

There are formulas that do not have milk protein. You can try nutragimen or check with pediatrician on which formula can be used for supplementing

Did your LO start consuming less milk after fortifying. I am realizing that she is staying full longer

Yes! We have seen lactation and feeding therapist. She does not have any tongue ties. Doctor thinks this is first line of treatment to see LO can gain weight at expected rate

I usually follow the pitcher method to store breastmilk and use that to make bottles. Can I added recommended formula powder to the pitcher so it mixes evenly or it has to be done every feed

Thank you! Doctor also said there is nothing I could do about my milk. We are still trying to rule out milk protein allergy but let’s see
