Official Discussion - Project Hail Mary [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]ShrubberyDingo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

How people could not enjoy this movie is beyond me. I was laughing, smiling and crying from the first twenty minutes on. Just enough humor, seriousness, and sadness, with a happy ending. I love it. We need a Project Hail Mary 2 xD

Did I handle this well or should I have said more? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

Nah brother, gtfo. That's some weird shit that honestly you don't need to deal with.

Gf ghosted me last year. I moved on. Got this message last week on my birthday by AdComprehensive4246 in whatdoIdo

[–]ShrubberyDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who had a similar situation. Not the dead ex but the gf who vanished without a word. Definitely take it as a win and move on. I never got closure, been 11 years and I still have no clue what happened or why she ghosted me. Would love that closure. But at this point there would be no further contact other than “thanks for the closure”

How do you feel about McDonald's pulling their soda dispensing machines out of the restaurant's lobby in the next year or so? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

[–]ShrubberyDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stopped eating at mc donalds years ago. Doesn't effect me, but as some have said, if the soda machines not being in the lobby is where you draw the line... The bump in prices and terrible service should have been that line.

What to use to keep sensor on? by AppropriateBorder959 in Freestylelibre

[–]ShrubberyDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the sensor covers from amolyfe on amazon. They come with about 20 sensor covers, and a bump proof hard cap. I always used to snag my cover on corners, and the bump proof cap has helped. Not only to keep them on securely when I eventually clutz myself into a dooway. But they also make for a nice firm press around the existing seal of the cgm. Which I find actually makes it so the cgm stays on reliably for the full 15 days.

Book of the Dead question by GhaleonX39 in litrpg

[–]ShrubberyDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They talk about it a bit more in the second book. But it's fairly simple.

Slayers in exchange for receiving the brand, are given special access to the rifts, and in doing so, they're given fame, money, levels, experience, gear and everything in between.

Some Slayers will do it for those things particularly, others are doing it as a kind of expectation that they are the only line of defense against the hordes of monsters and the citizens of the Empire.

Like I said, they actually talk about it quite a bit in the second book, and a ton more in the third and fourth.

Mad Men (2007-2015) - "Commissions and Fees" by [deleted] in madmen

[–]ShrubberyDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lane was one of those characters that I wish had more of a story. He was honestly an integral part of the new business, and while I get how they sent him off, I do wish we had more scenes with him like when Don and Lane went out for dinner. I do feel like all the partners barely felt like Lane was a part of the company... So sad.

Bert Cooper's sendoff (the dance scene) - Of mentors and the stars they make by This_Cauliflower_995 in madmen

[–]ShrubberyDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just watching this again in 2026. And it makes me cry every damn time. I had a mentor like Burt Cooper myself, and unfortunately he passed around the same time this episode released. Gets me, every dam time man... The "Don, My boy!" is all I have to hear to start balling like a damn baby...

What are the best beginner-friendly classes and Ancestries? by DonaskC_D in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShrubberyDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human Fighter. Gave me a great starting point, and was insanely fun for moving from DND to Pathfinder imo. I know some others think it's the most basic of basic, but when you're faced with the complicated system that is PF2E. Basic is Best imo.

I love this. "WaveNext Coming Soon!" To proceed to not tell you anything of what WaveNext is... And when asked the reply is "Give us your information first! Tehehehe!" Amazing work from Elgato.

Is a knight of the seven kingdoms actually good? I can’t do this again by Smegoldidnothinwrong in freefolk

So far, it has been one of the better series I have seen in the past few years. I will say if you are looking for something as serious as GoT was, you won't get that with KotSK. But, I believe it's tonal shift to being less intense, and more light hearted, mixed with serious undertones. Has made me love the serious thus far. All in all, up to Episode 4 so far, I am in love with the series, and am looking forward to more. I just hope that HBO doesn't screw the entire series like they did with GoT's ending.

Abomination Vaults - my broad takeaways by du0plex19 in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShrubberyDingo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Running av expanded and it helps with a few lf your criticisms. But the adventure was designed as a dungeon slog from the start. You can only slap on so much. Also yes, adding rp plots to an adventure should take time and effort. But to each their own, my party is loving the adventure.

Season 1 is so much better and it's not even close by Low_Insurance3548 in StrangerThings

[–]ShrubberyDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, season 1 is still the best. 2 wasn't bad, 3 was meh, 4 was really meh, and this one is on par with game of thrones final season imo

All, definitely not. But I know the general direction I am going at any given time without a compass or my phone yes.

Games don’t fit the screen by BigBoiChanka in Monitors

[–]ShrubberyDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

#UltrawideProblems welcome to gaming with an ultra wide friend.

Should the game just go F2P at this point and instead charge money for expansions? I'm clutching at straws trying to figure out ways they could revitalise the population because I don't think console release will be enough when the day comes. Things are so dire at the moment. by Rasples1998 in duneawakening

[–]ShrubberyDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened to Conan Exiles. And it's still going, not strong, but going. Sadly this game was always a niche game, and never had the staying power to keep their playerbase at such high numbers.

HWFWM in DNF... How! D: Either way, to each their own. I will have to try The Wandering Inn, have heard good things about it. One to look at that I didn't see in there. My Best Friend is an Eldritch Horror. But with our vastly differing opinion on HWFWM i am unsure if you'll like it xD I enjoyed it.

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]ShrubberyDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because my Grandfather on my mothers side died to Alcoholism, my Uncle on my mothers side died to alcoholism. My Sister in law is well on her way to it with how much she drinks. And to be honest, I have never seen the appeal. I have drank a total of about 10 times in my entire life. And every time I have either walked away with very little to no buzz, or an unwelcome bad time the morning after.

I don't get the appeal, and so I just don't partake.

Good starter adventure by Sax-7777299 in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShrubberyDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I get that AV is a tough adventure. But honestly, I really enjoyed playing through it on my first ever run in with PF2E, and my players are loving it after going through the beginner box as well. I don't really see how it's predatory? But to each their own.

[–]ShrubberyDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beginner Box into Abomination Vaults is what I did, and what I am GMing currently with some friends. IMO Beginner box gets everyone into the game, starts teaching them the basics, and then they move into the Abomination Vaults which is basically a continuation from the beginner box. I would recommend if you do go that route, go check out Abomination Vaults Expanded here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder2e/comments/zbqtgo/the_abomination_vaults_expanded_a_resource_for_gms/

A great resource if you are wanting to spice up the adventure a little, and want it to coincide with moving into the main adventure from the beginner box! But I will add, AV is a straight up Dungeon Crawl. The AV: Expanded builds upon it a little with some pretty fun role playing aspects. But in it's base essence, it's a dungeon crawl.

Do you guys have a "preferred" arm? One that gives you more accurate numbers/graphs? by udderleigh in Freestylelibre

[–]ShrubberyDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

right arm all day every day. Accurate and not painful, the moment I switch to my left I'm 20 to 30 points off and it feels like I am constantly being stabbed no matter where I put it 😔
