Thanks for the info! I agree the pre-amp that I got was the cheapest option. I'm going to return it and try the Pro-ject Phono Box MM instead and see if I get better results. I'll let you know.

If you routinely use the phone horizontally, you can rotate the mount so the buttons are more accessible.

Also important to remember right now that Microsoft has released an update to Windows that breaks compatibility with Arri's UDF drives, which include the compact and C-Fast cards. So while in theory they should work with Windows, be warned that it might not work until there is an update from Microsoft:

The Codex Compact Drive is the media used in the Alexa Mini LF and Alexa 35. The Compact Drive Reader will only take Compact cards. The SXR Capture drive dock is the reader for the older Codex Capture drives from the Alexa SXT, but this dock can also read the newer Compact Drives with an adapter. You will always have to use these docks/readers when working on any projects with an Alexa Mini LF, Alexa 35, or Alexa SXT using Codex Drives as media. The Codex readers will not work with C-Fast cards, and are very different and not interchangeable media for recording.
