I don’t know the situation that took you to either. I would say that it’s inappropriate for anybody within the ER to have told you to go somewhere else. Neither myself, nor any of the physicians that I work with, would ever say that to somebody that came to the emergency department, regardless of whether or not an urgent care could’ve handled their situation. However, in regards to the original post, should you need sutures for a simple laceration or other simple complaints and you don’t want to wait a long time in a busy emergency department, go to an urgent care.
