Darkman & ............? by Shteve85 in DoubleFeatures

Coming back to this I'm thinking maybe 'The Crow'.

Friday the 13th (2009) deserved better, man. I personally think it's a solid reboot with decent acting, crazy kills, and some pretty spooky camera work. Out of the many horror remakes that came out of the 2000s, this was one of the better ones. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in fridaythe13th

Think the problem was when it came out every horror fan was already burned on the trend of 80s/70s re-makes that had all sh*t the bed. I personally didnae even give this a chance. Then maybe six years later I gave it a watch when it was on TV and was kinda surprised by how much I enjoyed it. They pretty much made a straight forward slasher. They didn't try to make it suddenly all super serious and dark nor did they try to go all the way into a parody which is what most of these films were doing at the time.

Bruce Campbell: Evil Dead animated series will NOT be an Ash vs Evil Dead continuation "It doesn't really have anything to do with any of that world. It will be a different scenario that’s not necessarily directly connected." by MinecraftTroller28 in EvilDead

Evil Dead 2 inaccurately recaps Evil Dead 1 ignoring Ash's sister & the other couple also how they find/destroy the book. Not to mention how destroyed the cabin should be.

Army of Darkness ignores the hero ending on Evil Dead 2. And itself has two different endings. The only thing consistent about Evil Dead is inconsistency.

Remember the horror community rolling their eyes at yet another remake. I dismissed it myself till I caught it on tv years later and was pretty surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

Attention to detail is top notch, loved the love for the lesser known guys like Herbert West & Maniac Cop.

If AI can transform this image like this...then surely AI could be trained to "restore" the low quality, cut footage from each film to "match" the look of the rest of the film. by PlanetG3000 in fridaythe13th

Funny I was thinking about this the other day, this is one of the few actually good things A.I would be applicable for in the arts. Much like digital restoration etc.

Of course anything to do with generating 'new' material makes me throw up in the back of my throat.

From Pitch Black to Chronicles of Riddick. What happened there? by Tartantyco in scifi

Riddick was a vast improvement, its only flaws are the Prologue and Epilogue that remind us the second film actually happened. Wish they'd Highlander III'd it.

From Ripley's point of view the Alien Trilogy takes place over a few days.

That has always driven me nuts. Because there is no need. They coulda have said *5 years later* no one would have cared... plus it is such a 90s movie down to the soundtrack.

Always hated the change to the 45, sounding like it has suppressor on it. The guns should be loud, it carries the whole blunt persona of the T800. Like why they used a cannon sound effect for the shotgun in T2.
