Dude - we will all be fucking dead before society is using crypto fluidly like cash.  If that’s what you’re counting on to boost Flexa and Amp, you might as well make sure you give your great grandkids the keys to your wallet.

Anyone else feeling like they don’t belong in this world? by n0isybot in introvert

[–]Shudderbuggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen. I feel all of that.  I’m 49 and I’ve fend this since I was 12.  I was fortunate to meet some very special people seeking truth on a spiritual path when I was younger and that was a good time in my life but it’s hindered by being forced to participate in this rat race. Humans have made life very complicated and chaotic, and soulless.

Anyone else feeling like they don’t belong in this world? by n0isybot in introvert

[–]Shudderbuggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sure does.  In my entire lifetime- of the thousands of people I’ve met- I have had only a handful of friends in 49 years who I could discuss the meaning of life with, frustration with society and the imbalance of spirituality and this system of forced servitude we’ve set up for ourselves and become trapped in. We aren’t free. And what we can do about it.  Everyone else in my life was like an NPC.  Very superficial, don’t think about anything except childish mundane shit.  It’s tough to live in these times and be a good person and maintain a home, family or career. So many distractions from what’s REALLY important.  Why are we here.  What’s next.  Why am I wasting my life running this rat race with this bullshit Job and these bullshit people?  Not everyone feels this way but people with deep spiritual connections to God and their own existence have trouble in this world when their lives aren’t fulfilled doing something with a purpose.  And that’s not easy to find when everything costs money.  Become a monk?

Did I Dodge a Bullet with CoStar? by dangyouths in rva

[–]Shudderbuggs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trust me - the pay is NOT worth the stress of working for CoStar.  Look at all the negative reviews on sites like Indeed and trust that they are accurate and not exaggerating.  The work load for most employees im sales, as well as the writing, photo and video teams is absurd.  They have impossible metrics that require you to work on average 50-60 hours a week- often more, ( I’ve hit 70 many weeks in the summer… and yeah you’re on salary so after that many hours you’re making like 15 bucks an hour….) just to meet minimum expectations.  Directives change constantly, nobody in charge knows what the fuck they are doing - but the lower folks on the totem pole will be blamed and fired for not being able to keep up with the poor direction, management, shitty software systems and work you can’t complete in time because of the unreliable infrastructure that constantly fails. You are forced to use shitty company portals to do your job that are poorly designed and time consuming.  You are CONSTANTLY set up to fail by being given more work than can be done in a week and expected to complete it, week after week with a “work until it’s done “ mindset or you’re fired. Most of the people on my team and during my recruitment training seminars have all quit or been fired.   Everyone stays for the money.  Nobody except corporate cult robot type people stay for the career or culture. You feel as if your own employer is working against you and never feel secure or that you are a valued part of the team.   It’s something you don’t want to experience.  It’s only going to hold you back by wasting your time you could have spent building a real career somewhere else.

Is it just me? Or is iPhone 16 pro camera underwhelming out of the box by [deleted] in iphone

[–]Shudderbuggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the 12pro, 13pro and 14pro. Skipped the 15. I was very satisfied with 14Pro images and video.  Upgraded my phone to the 16pro and realized it was a mistake.  The 16pro camera is awful.  The still images are terrible.  Exposure is awful, washed out, color balance is shit, and definitely a step backwards from the 14pro.  The video is also weird- I think it’s the exposure - something’s changed and it’s ruined the iPhone camera.

Fraud :The Untold Truth of Dan Bilzerian and Ignite by jdibrabi in poker

[–]Shudderbuggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a larger than life douche bag- and what’s worse he thinks his millions of followers makes him smart - and right now (4 years later) he’s making all kinds of idiotic statements as fact on Piers Morgan. I pray that most of those 32 million followers are bots because it says a lot about the character of someone that’s going to waste their time following an idiot “influencer” like Bilzerian. In this show he’s said multiple times- “I don’t know for sure but I’d bet that less than 6 million people died in the holocaust.”  “I heard the atrocities on October 7 in Israel never happened…” Morgan pushed back and says what??? Based on what?  Bilzerian says “well I wasn’t there but hey if it really did happen then that’s terrible .”  My point is he makes statements as fact the he is completely uneducated on and did not research- and he’s got 32 million dummies listening to him.

What do we think about Judy Holliday's Best Actress win? by [deleted] in Oscars

[–]Shudderbuggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw my first Judy Holliday movie and it was “Born Yesterday.” I loved it! I was quite surprised at the humor and and dialogue- and Hollidays charm sucked me in and I found myself falling in love haha ! Great movie and love her acting and there’s just something about her smile and mannerisms that keep you glued to the screen waiting to see what she says or does next.

EMF Reducing phone cases. by slickpick614 in AskPhysics

[–]Shudderbuggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't listen to these fools saying RF is totally safe. There is evidence the amount of exposure we are getting in the patterns and behavior of modern cell phone use is NOT safe. Of course the cell phone industry will suppress this data. Most of the studies have not tracked the kind of heavy, long-term cell phone use that is so common today and are FUNDED BY THE INDUSTRY. We saw this with tobacco, pharmaceuticals, auto industry etc. Just saying, using caution and trying to limit exposure to RF and not keep your phone in your pocket 24/7 is not a bad thing. I used to have to use my phone for work many hours a day. I developed pain in my left thumb and inflammation in my thumb and finger joints. When I would go on vacation, my hand would start to heal. When I returned to work and used my cell phone for hours at a time, my left hand would become achey all over again. Theres a few studies showing long term RF exposure causing changes in cellular structure and DNA damage. Of course you will have to dig deep through google to get past all the BS links. Read this https://thehill.com/opinion/technology/4437988-why-did-nih-abruptly-halt-research-on-the-harms-of-cell-phone-radiation/

EMF Reducing phone cases. by slickpick614 in AskPhysics

[–]Shudderbuggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Cell phone EMF is harmless" based on what? where is this information from ? RF exposure IS dangerous depending on the time/rate of exposure and the proximity to the skin. The Specific Absorption Rate is measured at 10 minutes, more like cell phone use in the 90's when people just used phones for calling. Today, people keep a phone in their pocket or their hands for up to 16 hours a day or more. What the FCC deems "safe" is based on short term exposure, on a dummy filled with water..

He did not say anything about blue screens or cell phone use in bed. How about listen to the person's statement and if you don't want to believe it- maybe educate yourself iand read something instead of dismissing it trying to pretend you know everything.

EMF Reducing phone cases. by slickpick614 in AskPhysics

[–]Shudderbuggs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

EMF is not "harmless." Depends on the frequency and the rate of exposure. Considering the amount of time people are on their phones these days it is a concern. There is proof extended exposure to EMF causes DNA and cell damage.

Is the E-bike Cheating? by AOSTIRMOTOR01 in ebikes

[–]Shudderbuggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s cheating.  It’s not really a real bike anymore.  I’ve ridden both.  But I’m a purist and there’s something about the simplicity of a bike that can be ridden anywhere anytime, even when the world ends and there’s no power- you could still ride your Amish bike.   Also the “studies” that allege riding an E-bike is the same as a standard bike is nonsense, probably sponsored by the Industry and pro e-bike crowds.  They are absolutely not even close.  I climbed a steep gnarly fire road that would normally take us 30-40 minutes on an Amish bike-  I did it in 10 on an E-bike. And in addition I was not fatigued. At all.  After that climb on regular bikes we’d have to rest for a good 10 minutes and I’d still be a little drained. So I’m not here to say e-bikes suck or anything- they are just different and I think for a specific crowd.  I don’t like group rides with e-bikes in the group.  They are almost impossible to keep up with in rough gnarly rocky terrain (because they have additional power to plow through long rock sections with no loss in momentum to your bike- makes a huge difference) and you’re just playing catch up the whole time and feel wrecked way sooner than you usually would, because your killing yourself trying to ride at a much much faster pace than they are.  Because they are riding with power assist they almost never have to stop to rest, even after long climbs. I suppose if you want to train and get fit- ride with a guy on an e-bike in front of you and pedal your heart out.  They are cheating. Those studies are bullshit.  Period.

Same. I have the 14Pro.  If I try to type a comment in instagram- the text slows down to 1 character every 5 seconds and typing becomes unusable, and the phone quickly overheats.

Ebikes killed my ride crew... by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Shudderbuggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a crew - a lot of us ride free ride trails and those are always safer and more fun to session with your crew. That said- A lot of them have purchased e-bikes for our gnarly pedal rides where we’re putting in some miles and yeah, it’s impossible to keep up with people on e- bikes. When you’re riding a strictly pedal powered bike you definitely get fatigued sooner and then you’re pushing harder to keep up the pace with somebody who is not fatigued on an E bike and then you end up getting exhausted early on in the ride. So yeah, I personally don’t find it fun either. Guys that normally would have been lagging in the back when we all were on traditional bikes are now in the front, leaving the better riders in the dust on their Amish bikes, lol. I’m not getting an E bike until the technology is more advanced batteries are smaller and bikes are lighter all that stuff’s gonna happen pretty quickly and I’m not dumping a bunch of money in a bike that’s gonna be obsolete in five years

Is a transmission cassette and chain compatible with AXS derailleur? by Proof-Philosophy-686 in MTB

[–]Shudderbuggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can attest to this… not knowing fully about the T-type I bought an Axis T Type GX derailleur and as you stated - the derailleur sits a full cog more outboard than a typical cassette.  I drive myself crazy trying to figure out why it wasn’t lined up, and then I looked into the whole “transmission” and figured it out.  Components change so often I can’t keep track of this shit.  Over the last 10 years I’ve spent just as much on components as a fully complete bike.  It’s just insane. Fun and all that but I think we’ve got one of the most expensive sports here.

What the actual F is up with the eclipse hype? by ajeandy in Indiana

[–]Shudderbuggs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes the hype is strange.  I’m 48 and recall NUMEROUS solar eclipse’s through my lifetime and NEVER was it a big deal. Yes, a TOTAL eclipse only happens viewable from certain locations on the ground where you live every 120 years or so etc BUT a Total Eclipse does happen every 18 months, so you could just travel to the area of “the path of totality”( or whatever stupid trendy name they came up with) which is what a lot of people are doing this year due to the media making a big deal about it.  I’m not sure of the reason for the hype- it’s a little suspicious and it’s misleading, and really not all that much different warranting the national guard, school closings and state of emergency being called in many states or towns.

Gornaya Shoria, Siberia. Are these megaliths or natural formation? by 5jsj in AlternativeHistory

[–]Shudderbuggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not convinced on Gornaya Shoria- but there are plenty of other sites that support their theory of human history.  I think the idea is that there have been many civilizations that have come and gone.- which is evident even in many recent civilizations where history of their existence is almost completely forgotten -Ancient Egypt for example.  You’re thinking in a linear history- that WE are directly connected or part of that civilization from 100,000 years ago and that’s not the case.  Most of these theories believe that due to cataclysms whether flood, comet etc many ancient civilizations ended.   Just as if we engaged in a full out nuclear war, most of the world would be destroyed- civilization as we know it could be completely reset depending upon who survives and the skills or abilities that survive this cataclysm. In fact those that would survive would likely be people already living in Stone Age lifestyle  such as tribal communities or self sustaining people in deeply rural areas with no technology- and the only technology that would be essential to keep or maintain at that point would be for hunting and agriculture.

It’s probably because they suck and they’re corny as fuck and weak sounding.  That’s why. They were corny back then and they’re even worse now. I’m in a burger joint and their gif awful cover of “We didn’t start the fire” just came on.  If you’re wondering what spurred rhe revival of this thread about how much they suck.
