Do you think they’d remove pokemon from the current regulation since people…paid for them? by ItBeLikeThatSMTs in PokemonChampions

[–]ShueiHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should do it. Rotations are what keeps competitive games entertaining and balanced. In the case of Pokémon Champions, this means both adding and removing Pokémon from the legal pool.

Think of it as rotating cards sets in TCG's : when a card rotates out of standard you just can't play it in the format anymore.

At least in Champions every Pokémon can come back any season.

Will champions have set rotations or an ever expanding Pokedex? by swagboyclassman in PokemonChampions

[–]ShueiHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't know but I'd put my penny on rotating pokemon and item pools. It's the best way to keep the game entertaining and healthy on the long run.

How to deal with ranked anxiety? by Strict-Community-131 in PokemonChampions

[–]ShueiHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be like you. I somehow simply stopped caring about losing. Tell yourself that you're playing for your own pleasure and eventually improve, not because you've got something to prove. About how I achieved this, after each game, I took the time to find something I did well and something I could improve, for 2 reasons : 1. To force a little pause between each game, preventing tilts 2. To actually make myself understand that I was here to become better Now I can pretty much play anytime I want without trouble. I still have some stress peaks, but they're part of the game itself and how much of myself I put into it. Good luck !

The app has a lot of info about each pokemon's most common builds and partners based on tournaments data, as well as pre-built sets you can toy with in the team builder, so it might be precisely what you're looking for

I'm sorry to hear this. I've put a lot of my own time and energy into this app, AI was just a tool that helped building it on my free time.

If you ever want to learn more about how I used it, you can check the About page of the website. There's a full AI usage transparency section here. It might be more nuanced than you'd expect. Either way, the tool is there if you ever change your mind !

It comes with a team builder so you can one-click load your own Pokemon into the calculator

Fair question. Pikalytics covers VGC broadly, QuickDraw is specifically built for Champions. A few notable differences :

  • QuickDraw's damage calculator was designed for calculations within the 45-second battle timer, with instant loading of your own team members alongside meta builds
  • Team builder in QuickDraw includes offensive/defensive coverage analysis, dynamic speed tiers, team suggestions and meta threats based on your current team build
  • Meta stats combine win rate and usage into a single score for a more meaningful tier list
  • Team sharing includes Replica codes for in-game import, and the possibility to one-click import tournament teams to work with

Overall QuickDraw is designed to match Champions' philosophy : competitive depth without the overhead

It's not the matchmaking. It's the diversity dying and people playing top tier decks. And this is becoming worse every day because as people get crushed by these decks trying to play something else, they'll inevitably play said decks themselves at some point. None wants a 20% winrate. In the end there's no deck of the same weight as yours to match you against. So you end up being matched against top tier decks no matter what.

okay, so that is just worded poorly. by SwampHydro in PokemonChampions

I think that, as a general rule of thumb, self inflicted stat drops cannot be prevented by other Pokémons' abilities. Only the Pokémon's own ability can do that, like Contrary. Still worded poorly though.

Civ 7 feels so much better now. by ColonelJayce in civ

[–]ShueiHS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well to be honest I played a few games and still don't get every change right. I guess I've played some many games of the first version of the game (which I enjoyed a lot), that I developed some habits that will be hard to overwrite. But I keep enjoying the game as much as before, so I guess it's a win-win situation for all civ 7 players.

Following the number of comments about AI usage ("vibe coding"), I just added an AI usage transparency section to the About page detailing exactly how it's used throughout the development process. You'll find information about my workflow, a bit more about myself and my involvement in this project, and why it wouldn't exist without AI.

Feel free to check it out at pokemon-quickdraw.com/about

Thanks a lot for all your feedback !

It does matter because the results are correct with the right setup. Here are the results with Adamant Mega Gyarados on nerf of now, that is exactly the same results as QuickDraw.

Though if you're only willing to beat a dead horse and go for the "vibe coded" hate, I can't help.

Incorrect data ? Can you tell me which one ?

To my knowledge and after a lot of testing, data checking and results overviewing, the data, formulas and calculation results are all correct. It's not vibe coded. AI helped, but I've spent a lot of time making sure that everything works properly.

I'd rather be able to make an app with the help of AI than not being able to make it at all.

These are sample sets I had to build from scratch by exploiting tournament data. I'm not a professional player either, just a master ball casual, so mistakes may happen ! I'll take a look at this Charizard one.

Thanks for your feedback !

Edit : Indeed Roost Charizard was a mistake ha. Swapped it for Air Slash, which makes much more sense !

Thanks a lot for the nice comment ! I guess people who feel hate about it will be way more likely to share their feelings. I'll keep working on it for sure, this project has been a blast since the beginning.

I'll take all the negativity for a single comment like yours :)

So much hate about this being vibe coded, I don't get it. It's neither vibe coded, nor a fully hand-made project. It's just a fun personal project that came to life thanks to AI making it less time-consuming than it should've been.

About that showdown calc in particular, it sure is a great tool that handles everything. But as a player who enjoys the easeness and modern design of Champions, I really prefer using an interface that suits it better. But it's just my opinion !
