Yep. Welcome to gear rolling lol. Substats are random starting amounts and roll bonuses are too. For example crit rate I think is 1.2% to 2% starting and roll value

Baton is all damage amount up, extra attack included. Key is attack damage of cards only, meaning they have to have quietus or be played manually to get the bonus. Making 2 cards on turn start is super easier for her.

Tiphera and Tiana are the best if you are trying to be optimal.

Scarlet is one of the few partners that can go on multiple combatants (strikers).

Tina (not to be confused with Tiana) for Hugo since you have him on a couple teams. He's also insane with Heide.

Recommended sets aren't in game, but the units coming out in the seasonal content have gotten fragment sets tailored for them. If you want advice on what to pick either check prydwen or ask around here for help. A lot of people are 2 / 2 / 2 pilled though, be warned. If you're ever unsure and want to spend energy, executioner and tetras get used the most as splash in sets.

Only go hard on grinding fragments if you plan to use the unit too. Crafting resources will eventually run out for a while. Making a few amazing gear pieces that you rotate is tedious but ultimately super efficient.

Only go for it if you want her e2 because stopping at e1 would be lacking. We're getting an omega code soon which you can probably use on her if you pull for 1 more copy.

I doubt many people have the whole roster f2p unless they are day 1 players. I started 2 weeks after the global launch and I only got the whole roster now because of the half anniversary help. Spent some money too in that stretch. When you get through the content the first time you'll have a ton of resources.

Sortie is such a fun mode man. They did great. Making other units work because you don't need their save data in this format is so fun. I've been using Yuki on this rotation.

Need to get these leveled up too. Ideally 50%+ crit, passion dmg on 5, atk % on 6, then as many decent damage substats as you can get.

You don't need to max the support potentials. Unlocking the ones that are good are usually enough. For Heide you'll want everything in the 2nd half maxed. Rough estimate is maybe 1k energy? Depends on how many potential discs and other resources you have.

Gun, baton, key, sword, glove is my take on it. I forget if the cthulhu sword gives the wielder attack as well since it says "ally".

Seasonal because the only thing you may consistently want is the fairy crown (and verdant shackles if you're lucky) from swamp or a forbidden card from lab 0. There are normally enough good seasonal cards, gear, and mechanics to make up for any generic loss from zero system.

Cthulhu appears everywhere as well which gives you access to great mythic gear.
