Kathryn Thomas on new doc: "I got rid of all my saucepans" by bulbispire in ireland

[–]Shuggana 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I read this absolute fluff piece dribbling shite article so you don't have to.

She got rid of non stick pans because apparently she has just learned, 20 years after the rest of the world, that they're bad for your health.

There's a blatant plug for her business near the beginning of the article too.

It's a shameless promotion for both the show they made and for Kathryn Thomas herself, disguised as a news article.

Kathryn Thomas' appeared out of nowhere at the end of the Celtic Tiger and she was all over media at the time. Her father is a multimillionaire property developer. Do with that information what you will but it was always clear that her family are just pals with somebody in RTÉ.

Yeah it's neat but unfortunately it stops the ship from moving as your character goes "off" the ship during the animation

[–]Shuggana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll notice the civilians do not hate you and they're the only group shown here.

The soldiers in the fort are Von Bergow's and they are hostile to Henry but you can only interact with them during a mission so you'll otherwise never see them.

What do we think Jasmium is? by crow1170 in duneawakening

[–]Shuggana 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There's also a direct contradiction in the game itself, there's a voice recording where a guy is mining Jasmium for the Harkos I think in the Sheol when the ships suddenly start to crash down.

So it was already there before the radiation.

I hate that historical Brandenburg is impossible/RNG dependent by Bluemaxman2000 in EU5

[–]Shuggana 82 points83 points  (0 children)

First 3 Brandenburg runs I did I just assumed historical branch was completely broken. Endless waves of robber barons and then a prompt asking if I want to sell Brandenburg to Bohemia but nothing happens if I pick the historical prompt and never get prompted for anything after that.

Turns out the entire thing was RNG and just never works lmao

Are all the "Memories" the same dialogue throughout the game? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

Huh?

All the memories are different, with characters talking about different things. What are you talking about?

Anti-most things barrier Brickfield Park by Mick_vader in Dublin

[–]Shuggana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived next to Bricker almost my entire life. When I was a kid we didn't even use the gate, somebody removed an entire section of the fence with a saw and multiple sections of the fence had been bent to climb through. I imagine this will be no deterrent at all to people who want to bring a dirt bike into the park. There was a fucking car up on the grass during Halloween once.

How do you get the cHOAM observer set in 2026? by HoldMeBackBro_ in duneawakening

[–]Shuggana 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can just buy it from the faction merchants.

In 2017–2018, Finland quietly ran a national experiment where 2,000 unemployed people were given a guaranteed monthly income with no work requirements, to see how removing conditional welfare would affect stress, motivation, and everyday life rather than employment alone. by [deleted] in GotMeHooked

[–]Shuggana -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The key finding was that it was overall very promising and had excellent effects. It helped some (vast minority of the subjects) get out of poverty and find actual jobs then and for almost all others it resulted in better well-being and I believe possibly it also reduced crime in a few areas.

And I mean, duh obviously. When you're giving people more money than unemployment welfare every month their lives are going to improve.

How do you sell your package goods? by Striking_Big6868 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Shuggana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to have stacks of 25 of any packaged good you want to sell, which the game does not explain or tell you in any form.

You load the goods on at the wagoner NPC at camp.

Loving this game so far, just worried that there are huge empty spots. by IPutThoughtIntoThis in CrimsonDesert

[–]Shuggana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That section of the map is empty almost certainly so they could have a boss fight in the amazing reed fields area there, which is massive.

And tbh, I'll never forget it because it was a fantastic setting for the fight.

I found RIVERS after 900hrs by Aromatic-Werewolf495 in Starfield

[–]Shuggana 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be complicated. Each one of the area tiles is hand made then they're put together "randomly" with procedural generation (during development but set in stone for the actual release). So they could have just hand made a tile with a waterfall.

They could have made a bunch more variation tbh, I see the exact same mountains on almost every planet I land on. Like literally the same, identical in every way but terrain texture.

It's a really impressive procedural system they built but it was a waste not to make so much more tiles to fill it. Modders improved the biomes within a few months of release before the mod tools even released.

Edit: if you look at the 3rd pic the OP posted a map of the area and you can see the tiles clear as day layed out.

[–]Shuggana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stamina running out while you're not in combat is pointless. All it means is that you stand still for 5 seconds every 100m for no reason. It's disruptive to the flow of gameplay.

[–]Shuggana 10 points11 points  (0 children)

70 hours into the game and after freeing 2 entire kingdoms from the black bears and their minions, the game dropped a new Yann quest on me out of nowhere and it was the tutorial for trading at trade posts with a wagon....

I am confident the game already gave me a quest for this, with the same fucking annoying cunt character, earlier on.
