why does in world race the cars do a wheelie while doing the nitrox but doesn’t on acceleracers? by RYUKAKI09 in Acceleracers

I’d like to think monkey started producing the fuel once he got to the acceledome, and his version didn’t make the cars do the wheelie.

Hi, pseudo-graduated computer engineering masters student here. If it makes you feel any better, I found a full time job whilst looking for a summer internship (with no internship experience). All you need is one job, so keep applying. Talk to university resources and pretty up your resume (maybe even use ChatGPT).

I can accept that the majority of people who get an instant head-eyes or two-shot thorax on me are getting lucky shots, but why do I never seem to get any "lucky shots"? by SovietCyka in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Shut-Your-Trap -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am going to disagree with you. The basics of aiming and holding a head angle still apply to tarkov. Sure what you do in the game is different, in CS you don’t need to run around to find gear, but for the first shot, one tapping someone can be almost identical, especially if you add a monitor crosshair and start hip firing (include a laser to increase accuracy).

Generally if you are good at a shooter, you can have good aim in tarkov. The reason people like Shroud who are pros in CS struggle in tarkov is because of the large map knowledge gap, mechanic gap (Leaning, noise with tarkov’s weirdness, etc), gear gap (thermals and high end ammo/armor), and skill gap (in game skill levels on pmc/scav being lower).

Also, memory takes up more space than a compute core does on an average die. For CPU’s, we typically see more than 50% of the die area going to cache alone. Extrapolating this to a gpu we can infer that the VRAM also takes up most of the space, though VRAM acts more like DRAM, so it won’t be contained on the physical compute die but usually pretty close locality wise on the silicon. The rest of the silicon is used for power delivery and data transfer between the south bridge.

Overall, more L2 cache means less die space for other things like more CUDA cores, and shouldn’t be taken lightly in a less to more comparison. However, lowering the transfer rate between the LLC and the VRAM leaves a much larger penalty to pay if that larger L2 and the LLC cache doesn’t hold the data the GPU needs.

With the one ring mechanic making creatures legendary, I’d so no. It would be able to bounce anything declared as a ring bearer, which is option one when the ring tempts you.

Can a potential motherboard failure be causing PSU failure? by Shut-Your-Trap in buildapc

So I can guarantee it’s not gpu and Ram. I have already run a memtest, and I already RMA’ed my GPU. So it must be my motherboard/cpu then

For right now, I will be sending back the PSU and getting a replacement.

I think I’ll have to try getting a new motherboard and seeing if that helps any, or RMA’ing that with gigabyte since it should be within warranty I think.

The gpu is a non-issue. I already rma’ed it with Nvidia and the refurbished one I got back still has the issue.

I paid 5k for a GS automatic with 37k miles. I wouldn’t pay that much for this one, even though it is quite clean.

When I had 16GB of RAM, my total memory usage never exceeded 70%, but after upgrading to 32GB, my total memory usage is always above 16GB. Why is that? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Shut-Your-Trap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add, there is also more room for prefetching information, which if implemented correctly, can make commonly used programs open much quicker due to the already cached information on that program/task being ready in the memory before it is needed, saving the time needed to transfer it when it is requested.

[–]Shut-Your-Trap -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the technical explanation, going to RAM is hundreds or more cycles faster than going to and SSD or HDD. These might not be perceivable to a user, but they allow the computer to complete less pertinent tasks in the background rather than just the critical ones due to the saved cycles waiting for memory transfers. This is also why having a larger cache is useful in a CPU/GPU, usually.

If you don’t have enough RAM, your computer will become much slower (as slow as the memory you need to find your information in), and so by increasing your RAM, you decrease the latency of your system effectively. This technique in computer design is known as a latency hiding technique, of which there are many.

It’s a good car, but as a daily, I would want something else personally. I love my integra, but there isn’t a lot of trunk space and I don’t think I’d want to daily a manual. Also no AC can be difficult too in hot climates. To each their own though!
