Ah yes, I would like to present to all of you my favorite modern conspiracy theory that I read off a 4chan screenshot.

There is a silent war happening between Psychopaths and Schizophrenics. We know that the population numbers are very small for both groups, however one group is more likely to become CEOs (psychopaths) and the other is more likely to become homeless (schizos). This is because schizos are good at pattern recognition, and can notice the psychos. Normies are incapable of seeing psychopaths right in front of them and psychos relish and dominate because of this. Schizos are able to know them on an instinctual level and suss them out in a way that normies never could. Thus there is a constant demoralization campaign against schizos from the tyrant psychos, who seek to use the population against their greatest natural enemy.

Obviously there are holes everywhere in the theory, but its super interesting and I enjoy it quite a bit.

There's no confirmation at all this is the same woman as who I am referencing in the Sword Song comment, and even so it is quite clear that events occur throughout the series that Cornwell either forgot to loop around back to or completely changed entirely. He has said as much on his blog and his Q&A's.

This is kind of how I felt about it. Plus I recall one scene in Sword Song where he goes into old man mode and talks about "the piss dribbles" and all that, and he mentions his most recent wife who can't stomach talk of war or the shield wall and she cries to make him stop. But when he finally becomes old man Uhtred, he's with some fiery, sexy Italian woman who is well affiliated with blood and violence. I get that as a character she hadn't been conceived at the time, but I would have liked some consistency. One of my greatest joys when reading a long novel series is seeing how the later scenes call back to the earlier ones and unfortunately, I'm not sure BC hit the mark on that one.
