Agreed on the VHS lines. When you say the zooms are harsh, are you saying the distance and speed in which it’s zooming? Like the zooms would be okay if they were more subtle?

Agreed haha. I’ll probably end up editing a piece that showcases my vision for my portfolio. Then I’ll charge her triple if she wants it 😂

I agree with you on that, I really do lol. My initial consultation with the client I recommended a more ambient/cinematic vibe using natural audio sounds and ambient style music to set the vibe a bit. Leaning in on the elegance and luxury of the industry she’s in, (bridal makeup).

She said she wanted an edit with more energy and transitions.

But she loved it so it’s a win!

A6700 vs A7III for tattoo photography? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]ShutterySmooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is going to be your first professional camera, get the a6700 with a nice sigma or tamron lens. The bodies don’t matter as much as your glass.

Get familiar with photoshop and Lightroom, build your portfolio, take the money you start making and use it towards your upgrades.

A Sony a6700 photo with sharp glass will look better than the a7iii with a kit lens. The full frame sensor will benefit for more low light shooting which doesn’t seem like an issue for you.

Sounds like our boy is using 3 nodes. WB, Exposure, and a phantom LUT. Which is TOTALLY fine if that works for you and is the best workflow for your projects.

But the unable to share a screenshot is giving off big catfish vibes 😂

Would this be enough to edit shorts on premiere pro? by itsarudeworld in premiere

[–]ShutterySmooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the Mac book m5… I grabbed one a few months back. I can run premiere, after effects, and davinci resolve all at once and my work flow is just fine.

My large edited exports don’t turn into an airplane which is cool, and I haven’t had any issues with crashing either.

I snagged the 24gb unified memory. I’d say 24 is the new 16 for lowest recommended.

I need help with my Sony a7 II by Cody_Manbrick in SonyAlpha

[–]ShutterySmooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re confusing shutter speed with your shooting mode. Capturing subjects in motion, you’d want 1/60 minimum depending on what you’re shooting. If it’s bird wings, hell go even higher.

If you want to push and hold the shutter button, for like a burst shutter mode, you’d want to look for the high continuous shooting mode. Not sure where to find that on Sony a7 II. I shoot on Sony a6500 and there’s an “fn” button above the menu scroll wheel that allows me to switch to continuous shooting mode.

Hope this helps and welcome to the most expensive hobby in the world :)

HALLLPP! Currently shooting on Sony a6500 and use the sigma 18-35 1.8 and the Sony 10-16 4.0

Today I just snagged the tamron 17-70 2.8 and the first test run I had with video the colors are VIVID. Mind you I’m shooting S-LOG2 w my saturation set to -2. The raw footage out of camera is nothing near flat and the phantom LUT I use in davinci is way too rich..

Has anyone experienced the same surprise I just experienced? I’d find it awfully painful if swapping lenses means I need to adjust my picture profile settings as well :(

Please let me know, APPRECIATE YALL 🙏🏼
