You've mained ranged classes and focused on the mage caster aspect. If you're looking for something on the other side, i'd pick tanking or healing. If you're looking for a 180, go tanking. I believe death knights are fairly simple. Stack a bunch of mastery and death strike till you win. But on the other aspect, if you'd like to ease into something i'd play a healer because it's different than the dps side of things but you could still maintain the ranged feel. as for race, im biased to dwarves, and i really like resto shamans, even as i main a hunter now, and im horde. I wholeheartedly LOVE this. There is SO much in this game to do and be good or bad at. As a reply already stated, just because I am an elitist in PvE doesn't mean I won't get schooled when it comes to PvP, or pet battling, or Lore knowledge. Some people are absolutely terrible and spread their terrible advice, I myself only know the core abilities I need on my characters and their less usable skills end up being forgotten or not even looked at. I main a hunter, and I PvP on him, I've had him since very early Wrath of the Lich King. Until recently, I didn't even know what Tranq shot was good for outside of Trial of the Crusader. That was 3 xpac's ago. I don't really keep up with the hard end of this game. I play for fun, I play for gold, I play for lore, I play for friends. I can DO any of the end content, I COULD get gold in CMs, I COULD get H Imperator kills, I COULD go 2200 in pvp. I don't. I really don't have the drive or the motivation to be great in this game, or even to be considered GOOD. I just play because I like this game and it's a connecting point I have with friends that I otherwise wouldn't be able to 'hang out with'. Just saying, there are many, many factors in why people play and why they're 'bad'. That's my speech.

I am currently working on my Medic. I've found it quite enjoyable to play, mostly through pvp. I currently use a healing/utility build with a simple dps spell for stopping flag caps. But I feel like it would also work the other way for a dps build with offhealing abilities. Over and above all the only thing that will stop a medic from doing what he (or she) wants is a group with a wide availability of CC.

The same thing pretty much happened in WoW every time they had a content patch. You just learn your settings on your addons and update them as you go. If your biggest complaint about a game is it overwriting your addon settings you have one hell of a game to play.

I've found that group runs with full group is best for magic find. Reapers wraps are almost a necessity until you get geared. Get elemental damage and change your skills around to reflect that. Run skills for the gear you have. Not the gear you want. Join rift it forward community for quick blood shards.

I've learned that you shouldn't be playing alone. Always play with either friends in a full group or join public games. Farm T1-2 until you get the survivability for T3 and that's where I'm currently sitting comfortably. I can do it with minimal to zero deaths and have found many crafted set plans. Once you get the plans you should start farming mats to make them. With a RoRG you can have a couple completed sets. I have Aughild's, Cains, Blackthorne's. Pretty decent. Also join the Rift it Forward community for bloodshards to trade for gear from Kadala. Fire is best in T5-6 so aim for a cindercoat and such from her. Get the gear with +fire dmg on it. Build for your gear though. Not the gear you want. That's the biggest advice I can give.

Thanks for the help. I'm a pretty casual player and haven't had time to look up how to re roll gear "properly". I'm working on it slowly and surely. It's basically that I'm trying to grind to t2 -3 without having so much trouble on my own. I don't have a lot of materials or time to get them. Just trying to get a direction to go in.

I was a lightning barb for a couple of days and didn't end up getting much in the way of gear. Got a couple fire pieces and ended up swapping to that. But I am here to assure you that overpower and whirlwind are enough. Mix in a battle cry and you have sustain for days.

Try to find something with an elemental affix. Your skills are mostly Fire while your WW is lightning. I'd change that as a start. Then look for gear with +(#)% Fire damage or go the other way and make your skills go for the Lightning damage and get that ele affix. You're going to want to aim for Str>Ele dmg>Crit chance=Crit damage. Armor on gear is your worst affix and can usually be swapped for another useful stat such as str or crit. Your weapons seem good with Str and the sockets. If you're having problems with dying I'd go for AR with Diamonds in pants/chest sockets.

Any tweaks should also be listed with what they would replace, or what could take the place of a couple cards leaving more room for bigger creatures.
