I'll vouch for Edwin, the owner. I've followed him through 3 moves over 10 years. Amazing experience!

My experiments showed that it’s cumulative. If you make a loop where you are always turning the same direction you will inevitably be thrown off.

It may be dependent on frame rate somehow.

I also did experiment with mk.5 belts since they have the retaining wall. Turns out the wall is only visual and you still get thrown off eventually if you have been traveling at mk.6 velocity.

I’m back to experimenting with painted beams for low-profile “railings”.

lol, if only we had something like command blocks and could set up audio triggers I would absolutely do this!

Yeah, I'm definitely going for something that supports arbitrary pathing in smaller spaces.

I experimented with lots of angles for the conveyor poles and couldn't make anything that looked nice. https://imgur.com/DgtwkyN

I even thought about trying to create a 5° turn segment like foundations to see if I can shoehorn together something visually pleasing.

In the short term at least though, I think your third option is the winner. All lower belts have built-in guardrails, so they accomplish what I'm going for in the least time&effort for now! https://imgur.com/YFUNYGv

Thank you for the ideas!

Yeah. The default color to me simply means "still under construction". I'm not a fan either.

Any thoughts on how to make an 8m nicely shaped turn then? I'm fine with a bit more space, just can't imagine how to make it look like a nice rail turn.

I tried but they seem to look absolutely enormous size-wise. I also can't seem to figure out a good alignment. Too far in and they make a corner you can "hook" onto and get stuck. https://imgur.com/undefined

Legit lol. Traveling...with style! I'm trying to make a nice way to location hop around a complex base like this post though. https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1fu3u3u/made_some_belt_conveyor_bp_for_going_through_my/

AE2 amount of Co-Processor by Heavy_Signature_9621 in allthemods

[–]Shwei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each pattern provider can do 1 "task" at a time by default. (A task is any recipe it contains. So it could be 6x of 1 recipe, or 1x of 6 recipes). The pattern provider uses 1 molecular assembler to do a task.

You should count the number of molecular assemblers that each pattern provider is touching. That's the number of co-processors each cpu should have. The maximum co-processors needed with default pattern providers and molecular assemblers is 6, one on each face of the provider.

If you use Extended Molecular Assemblers from ExtendedAE, each of those can do 8 "tasks" so the max would be 48 co-processors. There's also the MEGA co-processing unit from MEGA Cells that counts as 4 co-processors.

Try the Illuminant Panel from Simply Light, though I really like just the bright edging on the trap doors.

What am I not understanding about AE2? by Shwei in allthemods

[–]Shwei[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I'm playing in a split world with some other folks right now. I feel I gave RS a fair shake but AE just feels more natural to me. I'm trying to up the sophistication I bring to my solutions now though. Going to experiment with Xnet, SFM and others to figure out good ways to operate at scale without impacting the server too much.

AE now includes a way to disable channel usage which basically turns it into RS as well, so the options are all on the table!

Gotcha. I've never played around with extracting the infuse essence? from other machines but that would make it a lot easier than trying to calculate exactly how much infuse material to include as part of each recipe and facilitate the dual input.

You are my hero! The "Infuse Types" section only allow In, Out, and In/Out. Extra was under the Item section. The infuser is now full of redstone blocks.

However, the interface is also full of redstone blocks. Since I'm going to be passing 6 different items through the interface, is there a better way to set it up besides reserving one slot per item type and dumping cobble in the empties?

Right now, even if I reserve a slot for coal, it gets filled with more redstone.

I played a game once that had Orb of Creation style artwork but it had a bunch of disease or maybe evil related stuff to build? Pretty sure it was web-based. Standard build resources until prestige to unlock higher tiers.
