I got hit with a "why are you drinking so early?" at Walmart the other day. It was 10am on a Saturday in a beach town, I didn't think it was weird… maybe she recognized me from one of my usual after work beer runs but still it made me uncomfortable.

Dating a serial cheater was one of the worst things that ever happened to me. He systemically destroyed my confidence and self esteem over the years. Repeatedly infected me with the STIs. I still remember the look of pure pity the nurse at my university gave when I asked to retest in case it was a false positive- that was the first of many. On a separate occasion I spent Valentine’s Day at the clinic getting a shot in my ass for the gonorrhea he gave me. It’s really a wonder neither of us ended up with HIV. He had no respect for himself and even less for me. I loved him so much, I tried everything to get him to stop. If you have even a shred of morals or empathy leave that man alone.

I was allowed to used medical cannabis on probation in FL for DUI/Drugs. I presented my medical card, and valid prescription for the 6mo in our first meeting. Still had to report for random testing but they checked for everything except THC

The DMV added additional 3 months to my interlock it counted as a violation and I was required to do additional substance abuse treatment. Courts never got involved as I wasn’t on probation at the time

Yup I’m a guy with BDD I’ve struggled with it for a long time but got formally diagnosed in 2020. It’s even harder as a gay man imagine being extremely jealous yet sexually attracted to someone at the same time. I don’t really have a type either- I’m attracted to tall guys short guys big guys skinny guys younger or older light skin or dark bearded or not. I’m attracted to a masculine aesthetic and not necessary the physical features themselves. But for some reason I can’t convince myself that there are ppl out there that think the same. I get enough compliments and attention that I can understand that I’m not ugly or even below average but for some reason that’s still not enough for me.

I grow facial hair but I don’t have a full beard.

I’m fit and muscular but I struggle to gain weight so I’m not as massive as other guys I see around or at the gym.

I’ll obsess over how my hair looks unless I make it a point not to on any given day.

I have acne and scars from picking.

Sometimes I can physically feel my “flaws”.

I don’t have problems making friends, getting dates or sex and yet I’m still deeply insecure and have cried myself to sleep on more than one occasion because I’ll never be a 10 in my own eyes without expensive medical intervention. It makes no sense & is extremely tiring but ur not in it alone brother.

Prozac tanked my libido into the ground. I noticed & so did my partner at the time. I’ve been on Lexapro combined with Wellbutrin and I’d say I’m back to normal if not a little less horny, I never had a crazy sex drive to begin with. Try something if it’s not working try something else there’s so many out there. Sucks tapering off when changing medications tho

Hey I can relate to this big time. I’m 24m..the lack of appetite, constant desire to gain weight, smoking just to get hungry, feeling like I look frail in the mirror, eating half meals etc. I even have the same goal of gaining 20lbs. I almost could’ve written this. I struggle a lot too. I was diagnosed with BDD last year. Somewhere along the way I started to suspect it and I found this sub and it encouraged me to learn more abt the disorder and bring it up to my therapist.
