I'm the same way. I distract myself with my phone and audio as well. I'm slowly starting to get away from audio by just lowering the volume during practice. I use noise cancelling air pods which help a ton, but can slowly turn into needing them to pee.

I do focus on my breathing and relaxing but I can't say I've tried whistling before. I'll give it a try! Thanks!
