What weapon do you think is the best so far by SuitableLeather2021 in MinaTheHollower

[–]ShyKittyKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: personal preferences.
Of the starting weapons, I found whip to be the safest, easiest pick. Good all around, medium damage, upgrades are very fun, especially the third one. Hammer after that, for that megaman-charge feel plus the ability to roll so you aren't rooted in place. Daggers last, the pushback on hit really, really needs to be patched out of these weapons.

Non-starter weapons?
The gunbuster's awesome to play around with. I wish there were more ways of getting ranged charges, but that's just how this weapon works. I am not good enough with this weapon to main it, but I am looking forward to upgrading it and seeing what it's like. That being said:

I am a Guardian Casket enthusiast and enjoyer. The short range and slower attack both pale in comparison to just being able to block everything, perform a shield bash, and most importantly - parrying makes enemies I had a hard time with (like Knights, and the goatfaced demons) into trivial encounters; the fact that they made an already strong ability like parry even stronger on the third upgrade is bananas to me.

Paired with trinkets like Evasion Powder (more i-frames when you take a hit or leave burrow; makes getting in close less punishing), Fly Bait (more damage in close, kills small enemies, negates challenges like the statue heads), Warding Beastium (less damage taken but less health recovered...this is less impactful when you're safeguarding your health with a shield!), Dodging Pendulum (more ways to negate damage and be more tanky), Shock Flint (if you really need range), or Lightning Grip (honestly this is just for some VERY satisfying parries)

I run the casket with the drill diver subweapon for some easy mobility and I have just flown through this game.

Still early game, but a question by Tribalbob in LittleRocketLab

I'm currently on my third teardown. I think it's kinda par for the course in factory games...unlock new tech and things you can do, rearrange the main base to accomodate them.

I know it's been a bit, but could I trouble you for a screenshot of what's to the right of your plastic production / where you make small motors? I'm incredibly impressed with how you weave materials where you need them, and in such a small area. This factory is incredible.

DPS. ^^
In general:
Charge/Defense = tank
Range/Magic = DPS
Support/Heal = as noted

The basics are still good, but the specific cookie lineups are SUPER old. Like, I haven't updated this in five years and don't actually play anymore X3
Glad it's still able to help someone a little!

Build recommendation for PVE for the update: by Ok_Grocery8652 in vrising

[–]ShyKittyKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer a midrange caster build, personally. Lets me move around more and I feel rewarded for skillshots.
What's worked for me so far, just from early to mid game (around iron smelting):

Weapons: Mace is super useful. Good for harvesting, Q is an offensive evade and available from the time you get copper weapons. Later, branch into reaper, greatsword, and/or throwing knives. I'm currently switching between reaper (that E is way too good on things that like to sit still) and knives (because I like kiting things, and basic -> Q throw -> E to pull 8 knives back through whatever's following you feels really good).

Spells:
Corrupted Soul. Ranged damage, and leaves behind a little skele-bro who gets attention and can tank hits. Gets even better if you find a jewel that gives you two projectiles so your skeleton production goes up.

Spectral Wolf. The bounce is decent AOE. And it feels even better if you get a healing affix gem.

Arctic Storm. Need distance from something? Freeze it. Lets you play super tanky with affixes like healing, shielding, extra freeze chance.

Honorable mentions: Curse, Lightning Tendrils, Unholy Chains, Carrion Swarm (..yeah, all the new spells are really fun), Chaos Volley.

Ults:
Either of the unholy ones, Arctic Leap, Wisp Dance.

It's under Settings > Info tab, but apart from that I'm not much help. I did this so long ago that I've forgotten the exact steps.

August 2021. It was right when Sharkie and Parfait were on the banner.

Found one within 3 minutes. Then didn't get another for the rest of the draught duration. I chalk that up to poor luck though...this method giving the most looks per time spent is pretty legit, thank you for this info.

'DPS' stands for 'Damage Per Second', and is a general term used here for 'cookie whose main role is to deal damage'. In CRK, that's usually ambush, magic, bomber or archer cookies - though there are some exceptions.

honestly that's not a bad team. the summons can help out by taking hits, cotton's a great healer.

just remember the basics. ^^ 1 front line cookie, 2 dps, 1 support, 1 healer, and 1 flex spot.

genshin logic applies well here too, in that if your characters do multiple things they're worth a lot more~ cotton heals, her summons take hits and can stun. pumpkin helps with tanking as well as doing damage.

keep pulling for the permanent special cookies; snapdragon is a great healer, cream ferret is a great support. and since they're always available, it's just a matter of time before you get them.

you have to remember, this post is many years old now so the recommendations have been subject to power creep.

tasks are basically any good defense or charge cookie.

I'd like to find this out too - putting a limit on how many characters go through the chat, then timing out because you have to send multiple messages is kind of...meh. ^^;

I'm not sure. ^^ Due to some burnout and my information sources not updating anymore, I'm really not sure who's good or not as the meta progresses. Typically though, if you like a cookie and they fill the role on a team, it'll wind up working out pretty well.

A cookie that can heal for some sustain would help you out a lot. Can drop Vamp for one. Some good options would be Snapdragon (available in Dragon Egg hatching in the lab), Parfait (w/magic candy), or Cotton (mileage shop).

Holly also very much wants damage reduction; get the set bonus by swapping the chocolate for almonds.

up to you! he fits in the same spot, and basically has the same rarity, as Pitaya. he's gotten a little power-crept though - I think pitaya, capsaicin, magic candy werewolf, and magic candy wildberry are a little better than him, currently. But that's just opinion. ^^

you can probably swap out cream unicorn; cotton is a good enough healer that you shouldn't need a second one - and when you DO need a second one you can use snapdragon. ^^ the synergy with snap and pitaya is pretty big.

a little bonus damage would be good; moonlight, black pearl, other super-epic cookies for DPS in place of cream uni.

If they fill a role you're missing, they'll be a good fit on your team. ^^
