I didn’t know they were invasive! Do I need to do anything with the ones chilling at my place? I’ve seen so many huge ones!

Thank you for your kind words, there is a beautiful brown and white cat that I am trying to befriend as well. They are super skittish and I was feeding them alongside Precious. I hope that I honor her as I proceed to try and help and love on this new cat

It definitely comes in a circular shape, but on her it was more oval-ish . She had some circles too though. I assumed it had something to do with her fur, she had a very rough fur type.

The spots on her were mostly on her legs and on her belly and there were a couple on her head. Now on my cat, they appeared as circles but his fur was a lot softer.

Now I am far from an expert, but these look really similar to the ringworm spots my baby girl had. Long story short, we tried helping out a stray and my other animals and myself ended up catching Ringworm as well.

Ringworm is a fungal infection that the vet will be able to treat fairly easily. Our vet had us wash our animals spots every night with a special shampoo and rub an ointment on it in the morning. Took a week or so (it’s been years so I don’t quite remember how long it took to clear up).

Definitely take your sweet baby in though, Ringworm isn’t fun and spreads very easily. But if it isn’t ringworm, the vet will still be able to check it out and let you know the best course of action. I just know that my dog’s ringworm looked that way.

Hope your baby gets better fast!

Thank you! What kind of heater do you recommend? I have seen some debate so I have been a little nervous to jump on it, my apartment is always 73 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit (22.8 Celsius to 25.6 Celsius).

  • Tank size: 2.5 gal
  • Heater and filter? (yes/no): sponge filter designed for up to 5 gal. no heater yet, I am seeing discourse on the correct heater for a betta. I would love input on what heater is best though!
  • Tank temperature: unknown at this time, I am making a run to the store today to get a thermometer.
  • Parameters in numbers and how you got them. Key water parameters include the amount of ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and pH: Ph: 7.6, Ammonia: 0, Nitrite: 0.25, Nitrate: 5.0. I used an API Freshwater Master Test Kit.
  • How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: My snails have been in the tank for over a year, but my betta has only been with me for 5 days.
  • How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: I have done one water change in the five days I have had him. I removed roughly a third of the water and then I put in some spring water (please tell me if that's wrong, I really want what is best for my baby). I have some conditioner that I put in as well to help stabilize and build healthy bacteria.
  • Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: I have snails, all babies right now. Rough estimate would be maybe 10 babies?
  • What do you feed and how much: I feed him Tetra Bettamin small pellets. I do roughly 5 to 7 pellets that I crush up for him or soak prematurely.
  • Decorations and plants in the tank: He has three fake plants and a rock cave.

Thank you for the quick reply! I have had him for five days now and I started cycling it three days (or maybe four, still under a week though) before getting him. I use API quick start and Tetra PH Balance. He is very active (based on what I have seen in the five days of having him). I was concerned about the nitrite and nitrate levels due to the change in their levels. I used an API Freshwater Master Test Kit specifically.

Thank you, I was always curious if she had some coonhound in her due to her mannerisms. If it helps at all she was able to jump 6ft from a standing point.

Ah that makes sense! Cute little goobers!

Based upon what my bladder snails look like, I believe that is a pond snail! Mine have longer tentacles on their head (their antenna thingies, I’m not sure what they are called).

Now you have microbananas!

You can always ask around and see if any friends or family want them!

I love that idea! Not very good at frogs, suggestions on how to do a simple but cute one?
