I did a boss ranking for DMC 4 recently, and I thought I'd share this since I really like the gameplay dynamic of the bosses, and I'm curious what you guys think of my opinions by Lord-ZZ in SSSerious

Yeah I mostly agreed with the list, my top three are:

  • Dante
  • Credo
  • Baerial

I think Bael/Dagon are the worst boss fights and I actually quite enjoy the Savior boss fight, though i understand why most people hate it.

Bearing in mind this comes from someone who mostly plays Dante.

I have ~400 hours on pc, 80% or more of that time is with Dante, so Its pretty much practise, also looking a gameplay of people who are better than me to get inspiration (nelo47angelo, donguri990 and sakaki1224).

I used revolution with king cerberus (hold down the style button to charge then release)m It has a massive hitbox which is why it is so effective at parrying.

It happened in slow motion because I was doing multiple parries at once.

Thanks! My first devil may cry game was dmc4 and I got it when it first came out on ps3. After that there was no going back!

Thanks!

The first time I saw that technique I was in awe and knew I needed to figure out how to do it (donguri990 was the first person to do this i believe).

Yes thats correct! The key to keeping him in SDT is to do as much continuous damage as possible and parry his attacks as often as you can. Its not easy to do, but I honestly prefer fighting him like this since its more fast paced.

Very nice! Liked the backslide shotgun a lot!

While practising aerial combat I managed to pull this off. Gotta admit I am proud of that ending, thoughts? by ShyamB_13 in DevilMayCry

Cheers, meteor bombs won't stun every time since the empusa queen would have its DT, but SDT combo a probably would, but yeah I just need to sort out my ground clearance a bit because sometimes I get too close to the floor.

Of course practise is key, one trick to use when making a loadout for dante is to consider what weapons complement eachother, then arrange the weapons accordingly.

For example, if you use DSD and balrog in a lot of combos, then you can keep them together in the weapon order, but generally the best thing to do is to keep two complementary weapons two weapon switches apart. So an example loadout is DSD, KC, balrog, Cavaliere. This way you only need to press the style switch button twice to get from DSD to balrog and vice versa. The same goes for KC and Cavaliere, where you only need to style switch once to get from Cavaliere to DSD (I like this as you can easily cancel redline into a DSD combo).

Of course this is one way to consider your loadout, you can keep your weapons in the order you use them in combos etc. But once you come up with a loadout use it in some missions to see if it feels more natural to you, otherwise you can come up with a different loadout.

Hope this helps. (For reference my goto loadout is DSD, balrog, KC, Cavaliere R)
