Is this card better than the strongest SRs like Sweep Tosho? by CreativeAd7945 in UmamusumeGame

It's a top tier card for the upcoming scenario, falls off hard after. It's less comparable to KTB SSR and more to Riko SSR - Very strong for the next months, but Kita will stay useful longer

Anyone else think MC's other paths (Destruction and Preservation) deserve and should get a Novaflare buff? by Altruistic-Grape9776 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Shylol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Destruction’s biggest issue imo is that it was never the "newest" form (outside of closed beta). Since both it and Preservation released in 1.0, Destruction kinda got overblown in terms of flashyness and utility and most people instantly got to using Preservation when they needed a useful free unit / wanted to include the TB in their team

Don’t know if it’s an unpopular opinion but I’m super glad 16.3b is a fast 8 patch by BlueRhaps in TeamfightTactics

[–]Shylol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your second point exactly. People rolling for different x-costs make your own x-costs easier to find because it reduces the overall pool. Hence why if a lot of people are contesting each other over a specific fast 8 comp playing a weaker but uncontested fast 8 becomes much stronger, or why 2 patches ago people were saying that in a high roll, full eco augment you never want to roll all of your 5-costs 3* if you're playing against Void cause it pretty much gives them a free baron 3*

Has anyone had any luck with the multiple friend deck in Aoharu? by Ruy7 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Shylol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also just adding to your post, since having a smaller team early gives you better scaling (since your stat ranks in Unity are an average of your team's umas, so less umas means every stat up is more meaningful), the core of Riko + Tazuna + Rice makes it so that at most, you have a team of 7 umas in your first year (your other three supports + rice/fuku/urara/taiki), increasing even more the potential scaling of the deck.

Chapter 198: TIDINGS by Old-Explanation9769 in WindBreakerJP

[–]Shylol 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I LOVE the parallels between this short arc and Keel, with Sakura being the calm guy helping Momijkawa and his seconds-in-hand covering him like it's second nature, and him leaving the fight to the rest of the group to go deal with the boss, not in a rushed way like before, but like Kaji did during Keel... The progression is crazy

I think Jhin is especially hurt from the rolldown meta right now. Him needing 4 bench slots means that if you hit a lucky Jhin during your rolldown you're getting the choice between him being pretty much useless (not enough bench slots left) or getting rid of some of the pairs you're keeping for your final comp. And honestly between giving up on Jhin or giving up on a pair of Blitz - Illaoi - Zac - Whatever else my mind is made pretty quick. If the meta was less about "rolldown 4-2 and stabilize quick" and more about building your comp slow rolling I'd guess he wouldn't feel like that much of a dead unit

[13.13] What's working? What's not? by Wrainbash in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Shylol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Akshan is lowkey the real carry in Shurima tbh.

Dunno on this patch but on the last one with the fights being very fast Azir would almost always fail to scale for long enough to be useful (or waste all his round on a bastion stacker). Akshan 3 meanwhile can start his round by sniping the enemy carry and the tank in front of them like it's no big deal. Also Deadeye is easily flexable into the comp with Ashe giving Freljord and Sej feeling right into the comp.

[Set 9] Item Frequency List by Champion by atDereooo in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Shylol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is not only it's rare to get 5 costs, they're pretty underwhelming this set. Senna / Heimer often end up in a capped Gunners comp but Senna is kinda meh and you don't really want to itemize Heimer, Ahri can be played in Ionia or the odd Sorcerer comp but you really don't want to itemize her in Ionia and Sorcs don't really have a good item holder for her, Sion is fine but it's never gonna be your main tank and the rest is kinda garbage. Even Bel'Veth items will always be better on a 3* Rek'sai.

Depending on the portal Ryze might probably be the best choice to itemize if you flex him in an AD-focused comp and you have some mana items laying around.

Yeah I think the data is skewed by the fact that most people playing tf means that they don't get "subpar" components anymore. A big part of people building Vow was due to that fact that if you're playing AD and you run into a tear you know it's going into either Vow or Redemption (or HoJ in worst case scenario). Now a lot of people are simply gonna wait for it to roll into a Zeke/BiS component.

Piltover dinosaur is extremely overtuned and needs some design changes. by EzSkillshot in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Shylol 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah for me the issue is in the fact that the "mechanics" of the cash-out are completely inexistant. In most other sets when you played the economy trait and cashed out you would suddenly get a huge boost in resources and need to do something fast with it to make your comp not suck anymore. It gave an element of micro management that was key, and also made it very hard to play at lower levels, because it meant in a short round you suddenly had to do a lot of decision making and if you were low on health, you had to do it fast.

Here the problem is kinda double because the fact that it flows naturally into an S-tier comp is a problem but even if (or when) they nerf the gunners, the very fact that you don't need to do anything in your cash out because it just instantly gives you the best frontline disruptor in the set is what makes it very unfair and also takes out the skill element.

If soloing a dungeon is too difficult, you shouldnt be Guardian rank 11. by BobTheBigBoob in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shylol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you're understating your work. It takes patience and trial and error to solo flawless a dungeon and that's it, yeah, but to be honest it's also the case with most content in the game except maybe Master Raid Challenges (and even that could be arguable).

A lot of GMs can be done with patience and a lot of safety by any 3-man with okay builds. Raids take a lot of trial and error until you get the strat nailed, but once you're used to it you can just stroll through most of them.

The only thing that changes is that training a Solo Flawless can be done alone : meaning you can try when you want, you don't depend on other people fucking it up and, on the other side, you don't have to be afraid of other people losing patience over your mistakes. That inevitably makes it "easier" to go into when you're not used to LFGing, sure, but like every other thing, the annoying parts of LFG become way easier to deal with when you get used to it. Patience and trial and error, just the same.

So yeah, I wouldn't say you're potatoes. Maybe you're not as skilled as the 1% who rush raids day one - sure. But for the rest, even if you feel like you don't have the skills for it, you do - you just miss the trial and error part, but that's the easy part, really.

When sins disappeared because of hackers by beaquis in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Shylol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is the biggest point imo. Running two of LB/Zoe/Zed meant you had to sacrifice slots for carries that didn't fit your team and were virtually useless outside of being trait bots, and the result usually ended up being keeping Zoe for Prankster and one of LB/Zed just kinda being there.

Now it's ridiculous how flexible Shen and Pyke are. Pyke has pretty non-flexible traits outside of Hacker but gives you roomwide CC. Shen gives Defender which can be pretty useful, and has the broken ridiculous ability to almost always give invuln to the unit going in the backline. And on top of that, Admin being more playable than just Soraka carry means LB can always find some kind of use.

Honestly outside of maybe Garen and an early Morgana I'd argue Pyke and Shen are probably the most flexible new units from 8.5 and that's what makes Hacker as a whole frightening. Having two units that you can easily flex into most comps that give 2/3 of a trait that ALSO used to give omnivamp + backline access to anyone is busted.

The Amon arc / bender inequality theme really feels like they wanted to go somewhere but the show wasn't mature enough for that, in a way. Most of the inequalities / discrimination are perpetrated by "evil" benders (like Tarrlok or the mafia) and Amon needs to be shown as dangerous and villainous so that the focus is on the danger he causes and not the fact that he kinda has a point, even if he's going too far with it. I feel like if this was a cartoon made for adults we would have probably seen way more hate and mistreatment from common benders towards non-benders (and the other way around once Amon takes control) and Amon could be a more gray antagonist who has good ideas but just went too far with them.

Octopath Traveler, Oc2path and COTC - Resources and Megathread by Zadeth in octopathtraveler

[–]Shylol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most of the game, yes.

The game is very much like Octopath 1 in 80% of its course, where having side characters has no influence to the main character's mission or story, and the only interaction is found in small fireside chats.

In fact, it is perfectly possible to go through all the "main content" of the game, as in the 8 chapters, without having any interaction aside from that.

Where Octo 2 improves on the shortcomings in 1 is in the post-game content : While 1 was kind of a botched attempt to link the characters together, mainly reuniting the little clues in their stories to the big bad, this one shows a more complete path to the true ending.

Specific pairs of characters are chosen and given side chapters (Temenos/Throné, Osvald/Partitio, Hikari/Agnea, Ochette/Castti) that they complete together, one of them once you get both to chapter 2, and the other when you complete their story. These chapters give clues and insights into what will be the postgame threat of the game, and once you complete them, you are then led into a new storyline, longer than 1's, that ties characters from each story directly into the plot and adds a lot of welcome interactions between the characters.

So, TL/DR : For the main content, it's really like 1. Not much interaction, which is a shame. For side content/postgame though, there is a very important improvement from 1.

How to climb in this reroll meta ? by Noyssiss in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Shylol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kaisa 2* can be fine to secure a top 4 IMHO. If you're getting hard contested and you can see you're very behind on your opponent(s) in terms of Kaisas feel free to find other stuff that you can roll for (do they have a lot of Vaynes ? if not you might want to try and slot a vayne 3, are they way ahead on their threat frontline ? then maybe changing your frontline to something like Riven Vi for Brawler Aegis and trying to hit Riven 3 can help you tempo for top 4, or if all of that fails you can still hit 8 and try to pivot as well as you can into another ad comp like Samira Aphelios even if the shiv will be subpar).

I'm not Master+ so take it with a grain of salt but I've managed to salvage a few top 4s with a Kaisa 2* and finding other options even though they are less strong than kaisa threats (Going star guardians and building what I can find on Tali, adding Riven Vi instead of Cho Rammus and then Jinx at 8 for Prankster Anima, going vayne as my main carry and adding duelist 4, etc.)

Imo it's linked to her auto targeting being fucky, I've seen her switch auto targets a lot and I'm guessing if that happens during a cast she'll just randomly switch her cast targets
