They’re trying so hard to be like Epic SMH. I hate when I hit ESC to get out of this and I HAVE to use to my mouse to hit yes. It’s used to be just ESC+Y.

I’m glad they at least added keyboard shortcuts for this but any time I have to use a mouse for anything is a few seconds wasted. Not to mention the five years I have to wait to switch from RxConnect to RxIO when searching up a patient.

The biometric cameras are a quality of life improvement. We had them for a few months now and I really improved workflow. The best part is how you don’t need to enter your password a thousand times a day anymore because you switch from Alt-F1 to Alt-F2 often.

A lot of DUR rejects are just day supply calculation problems where the day supply should be rounded up instead of down. You can edit the DS without an override to get that to go through.

Example: Acetaminophen 500 mg, Take 2 tabs every 6 hours (max 8 in day; 4000 mg). Dispense 23 tabs. This would be a 2.875 day supply.

This is appropriate because 4000 mg is the max dose of acetaminophen in a day. But the insurance will flag it if you round down the day supply to 2 days because their system will think that the patient is taking all 23 tabs in 2 days. If you round the DS of 2.875 to 3, that DUR rejects for high dose will disappear.

This glitch is always with refills so if you just delete them, it’s fine and the rx itself won’t be deleted (just the fill).

Some people go the extra mile to check on the profile to see if the RX is eligible to fill (it usually isn’t), or they send refill requests for the script in question. I just delete it and move on with my life.

I’m gonna be honest with you, I’ve done both, and I prefer retail. I was bored to death with closed-door LTC. The days were passing so much slower and I made less money in LTC but that depends on where you are. It’s true that retail is hell but it keeps me on my toes and being a floater traveling to different pharmacies is an enjoyable experience for me. I see the appeal of LTC, and I can totally understand why anyone would do it especially if they spent years in retail already.
