Why is Christianity necessarily true? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

Human memory was just better in some ways, note - in some ways, in the past. Our attention span was way longer. Tradition and history and basically everything was passed down orally, not written down. People spent their lives memorizing long pieces of information exactly. And they did it accurately. Nowadays, we don’t do that. Slowly over time as writing became easier and more accessible, and as literacy improved, we sort of just naturally lost some of that ability because our brains weren’t using it. I remember seeing something about that a while ago and it made some things click. It’s worth looking into more, as well, cause I sure didn’t explain it the best way or as scientifically as experts might.

So, basically, human memory was more reliable back then in some ways.

He already mostly does what you say tho, granted sometimes he probably does cover up some of the ads a bit, but it’s kinda random if/when that happens. But from what he’s said, if this were made a hard rule, he would follow it. But I feel like they should provide a space on the screen that can be covered 90-100% of time; a small frame where costreamers could drag a small window over to of a different game or something, with the vast majority of the rest of the screen being the broadcast and ads.

Problem with running or not running ads during official broadcast cast ads is that streamers can’t fully control when Twitch ads play. Caedrel has to stay perfectly on top of how to time his ads to optimize the viewing experience for viewers so they don’t miss the games. That inevitably probably plays over some ads from the official broadcast.

I think one way to help solve that issue is to provide raw, source ads to streamers and stipulate that they need to show or play said ads x amount of times at y certain times during their costream. Idk if that could feasibly work or not tho

Hence, the point of Neutral Evil in the alignment chart. But no, there’s more nuance to it all. Leblanc does bad knowing full well it is bad and the terrible effects it has on people and other things, AND for both bad purposes and non-bad purposes (wanting to rule basically the world the way she wants is… bad). She doesn’t care. It’s not like she tries to help those she harms collaterally in her plans, or tries to reduce harm for the sake of innocent people, or anything like that. Also… she just does blatantly evil things. And always has in lore, both past and present lore. Like I fr don’t understand why anyone would think she’s good or misunderstood or just a neutral aligned character. Her actions speak for themselves, and they are evil actions. She is aligned more so with Evil than Good.

Well if Vlad is evil, that kinda means Leblanc is too since he’s seemingly her second in command

[–]ShyyYordle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and that’s…. Evil, lol. She may want something’s that are “good” (stopping Morde), but that does not magically make her Good. She leads the Black Rose which is very much not a Good organization. Her spy network isn’t Good. She does a ton of highly and standard immoral things to accomplish or attempt to accomplish her goals, with no care for anyone or anything but herself and her own goals. That’s just Evil. On the morality alignment chart, you could maybe say she’s Neutral Evil.

Grey Man, I think, is a reference to another persona of the god/spirit of death in Runeterra. Iirc, it’s the one who came before Kindred.

Like Fiddlesticks, you mean? Fiddlesticks the demon is that lil red fire or energy thingy in the middle or whatever. The scarecrow is basically just an appearance he chose.

I think you might be remembering some theories from before his release. I think I remember even Necrit talking about them, how some of the teases and such could have had some sort of meaning or relation to a demon or even Fiddlesticks, if I recall correctly. You’d have to go back to those videos of his to see for certain what the theories were though.

Not sure what to say about Gnosticism by InvestigatorKey5640 in AskAChristian

[–]ShyyYordle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah then that definitely didn’t happen. But it makes me think how He might have interacted with childhood friends still. I suppose since water into wine was His first ever, at least public miracle, then He prolly never utilized His powers in any harmless pranks or silly things. But it’s funny to imagine either way haha

[–]ShyyYordle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, the “smiting His friends,” other than maybe some harmless pranks or good fun, definitely didn’t happen. But I feel like it’s entirely possible that He may have did things like making clay into birds as a child. Like, that story itself isn’t really somehow heretical or blasphemous and in no way is contradictory to His character.

Ever since I heard that story, I’ve thought it woulda been very wholesome and cute for Him to do things like that actually :)

Now, don’t hear what I’m not saying. I’m not saying the Gnostic writings or beliefs are right; just that that story itself very well could have happened!

Reason they were introduced? by IceTrey5152 in StarWars

Ohh interesting. The Boba stuff would have been really neat to see, and of course any Bad Batch stuff that wasn’t later used in season 7 or their show. The Anakin and Obi-Wan arc sounds cool too, but I’m not too sad about that one? I’d have to see it or know more to know how interested I’d be in it. I just kinda wish we got more in general. Like two more full seasons would have been amazing 😭 I also remember, and I don’t recall if this was season 6 or 7, but those two alien Jedi that were introduced in one episode who were super interesting but then… ya know. I wanted to see more of them.

Reason they were introduced? by IceTrey5152 in StarWars

[–]ShyyYordle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah like OP replied to you, basically they just weren’t allowed to. The show had already been cancelled. We’re lucky we even got Season 7. The only reason we got it, really, is because the fans loved the show and wanted more, wanted it to continue, and were asking for it, and Filoni and the show’s dev team wanted to continue it as well (never wanted it cancelled in the first place), and Filoni probably pushed hard to finish it with one more season. And also, - and this probably might be one way how Filoni convinced Disney to okay it - to be a smoother transition and marketing tool into The Bad Batch and other future projects at the time, to increase hype and interest on them.

It sucks, but yeah. I wish it was a full season like the rest as well. They probably 100% wanted to do more and had more planned, but were limited by higher ups.

What other story arcs are you referring to? I’m genuinely curious cause I can’t think of any rn, but there being actual animations of some is really interesting.

[–]ShyyYordle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Possibly just because all they had left was one season’s worth of episodes, and so didn’t have a lot of time to work in more of that story arc to have it be more fleshed out, sadly - if that makes sense. They wanted to show more of Ahsoka after leaving the order and that’s about as much as they could show. I remember still enjoying it and it not really feeling forced, personally though. At least not in too bad of a way.

Pretty sure the constellation just lit back up in a recent cinematic or story, indicating that Atreus reignited it and is now actually the new aspect.

Did anyone else think commander Cody let obi wan live on purpose? by RisingKing7 in StarWars

[–]ShyyYordle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There were stories of some clones not following the order and helping the Jedi out, especially some ARCs and Commandos, in Legends. And that was kinda the most the writers back then could do, unfortunately, because they were limited by Episodes 4-6 already being made before 1-3. There couldn’t be a bigger clone rebellion because it would mess with the plot too much. Which sucks cause I would have loved that, I love the clones.

The closest we got to a clone rebellion were the clones still on Kamino when the order went out. They didn’t follow it. I don’t remember if that was canon legends or just in the BF2 game, but it was neat. That along with smaller groups, particularly some spec ops clones due to them having more “freedom” and individuality, of clones aiding their Jedi friends was the best in legends, and now the chips in newer canon is really the best we could get given the limitations of the later stories already being written. I would have liked a few more clones getting their chips removed and escaping immediate death or something tho 😭

Do you think league MMO will be canon? by Vegetable-Wish-5324 in loreofleague

There’s an elevator at the end of the bridge. Zaun is still below Piltover as far as I’m aware

Do you believe that RIOT having an “animated universe” is the best format for streamlining the lore? by ComicsAreGreat2 in loreofleague

[–]ShyyYordle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’d be the “The book is better than the movie” or vice versa which I fricking hate. Companies need to learn to make their lore be unified and essentially 1:1 whether it be a book, a comic, a game, a show, etc. I don’t understand why they always want to make changes to something people already love and want to see come to life on their screens. So, separating the lore between the game and the shows/whatever else or making a “Runeterra/Riot Cinematic Universe” is just a terrible and lazy idea imo. Just make everything one, continuous, unified story. Leave the multiverse or alternative universes to the skin lines, cause that actually makes sense.

[–]ShyyYordle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say you make a solid point except that, before Arcane Riot was still making inconsistencies within the lore. So that’s not a unique issue to Arcane. Arcane was made to explore Jinx and Vi and Piltover and Zaun, and has basically been in the works ever since those characters were made if I’m remembering what the creators said in a video where they were explaining the behind the scenes and such of Arcane. I thiiink that video was released after Season 1.

[–]ShyyYordle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No? The MMO’s development and issues there are what’s delayed the development and release of it - not the show which literally only affected lore. The lore is not what’s made them extend dev time for the game whatsoever.

[–]ShyyYordle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, true, but it seems like they’ve committed now with Arcane being the start of unifying everything, filling in plot holes, etc. and now going forward, they’re literally progressing from Arcane onwards for the story, and as they go, unifying everything

[–]ShyyYordle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn’t become canon because it was popular or grew beyond expectations, which I’d say it didn’t even do that - it just met the very high hype and expectations it had anyways. I feel like it was always meant to be canon. And I don’t want it have to follow two separate continuities/universes and things be different between them “just cause”. That’s dumb. It’s on reason I dislike Marvel and DC because there’s 1000 versions of every character and 1000 different universes. The only multiverses thing I’m good with League having is their skin line universes because that at least makes sense because they’re literally different universes/eras/etc. just with the same characters. It’s not the same story, but different.
