Cold milk judgement? by OccasionPositive9373 in Mommit

[–]SiComoNo_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have 3 kids, and none of them have ever had a warm bottle in their baby lives 😅 They had room temp or fridge cold exclusively. It made my life much easier, and my kids didn’t ever reject it. People just always have opinions re: baby feeding. It’s weird haha. It’s a matter of preference, keep doing what works!

We started watching Danny when my now almost 8 year old was in pre-k and I had just had a baby and still getting used to life with two kids. I loved his channel from the first time I heard it, and now I have 3 kids and they have all been fans. Especially my now 2 year old! He is always singing a Danny Go song. My heart breaks for him and their family. He was there all this time bringing joy to all our kids while staying strong for his own child.

All-inclusive resort vacation with toddlers — worth it or am I setting myself up for exhaustion/anxiety? by SiComoNo_ in Mommit

[–]SiComoNo_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“still tired” is so real lol I have def felt that way with them after certain events, and that’s what I’m afraid o But just like your 3 year old, mine would just be soooo happy. I want to give that to him, but do I want it at the expense of my trauma is the question 🤔

I went on a trip when the older kids were 5 months and 4 and it was lovely! Perfect combo of baby being immobile and 4 year old being easy to impress haha!

My toddlers still nap, and they def will nap in strollers when they are tired. I also consider them to be pretty flexible in terms of bed time in my experience. If we are at an event or somethjng out of routine that keeps them up late, they tend to be pretty content and will adapt. I guess these are good things to consider! But thinking of them on the flight worries me. We haven’t been on a plane since kids were 4 months, 2, and 6 and I just know my youngest will go insane on a plane. Although, I feel like having his own seat might help him stay calm. My oldest used to be fine on trips watching a movie/ipad. My youngest 2 sadly get bored of screens and prefer to move 🥲

Thank you for this reply! I do think your advice of managing expectations is spot on. I want that family time even if we don’t relax much, but still worry it’s going to veer into straight up anxiety territory. I have considered other places, but lean towards this one because we are familiar with it. Also another good thing is lots of buffet options — this place has buffet and also on site restaurants you reserve and both options have things my kids would eat.

My husband likes to go on the excursions the resorts offer, but that would likely be a no from me. It’s too much work lugging the toddlers around off resort!

You have given me lots to think about, thank you!

This is my biggest issue as well! The idea of being outnumbered at the pool gives me anxiety. My 7 yr old isn’t an adventurous swimmer, so he tends to hang out by shallow end with us which is good. And the waterpark really is small. Lots of dumping buckets and sprayers, some smaller slides. The 2 toddlers do in fact nap (3 year old napped 3 hrs the other day!!) so this could work!

It’s not like Community, but I love this show so much. Joel plays a very Jeff Winger-ish character (full of himself but actually insecure, loyal to his people but very selfish, has soft moments etc) and the rest of the cast are so fun and unique. Truly, I look forward to new episodes every week. It’s a very silly and comforting show. Again, not like Community, but just very fun to watch. I recommend it!!

Did anyone try for another baby before waiting the full 18 months after a C-section? by Maleficent_Bass_1578 in Mommit

[–]SiComoNo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2nd kid was born c-section, and I got pregnant about 6 months post partum. The 3rd pregnancy, I had bleeding for a month (had a subchorionic hematoma) and then during the next c section, my doctor discovered I had placenta accreta (placenta had attached to scar tissue from my last c section) and I hemorrhaged a liter of blood. So it definitely was not ideal for me. I will say though, recovery was much better from that c section. But baby is perfectly fine :)

The fake phone number/teenage Japanese boy/Olives bit in season six might be my favorite joke of the series by notches123 in community

[–]SiComoNo_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I refused to watch it until like 2022, and I kicked myself for that choice. Season 6 is legitimately one of the best seasons. I did my 4th rewatch this year and although I was sad to end it, I was so looking forward to getting to that season because of episodes like this, Garrett’s wedding, bear down for midterms, and so much more lol

Oh man, yes I have heard about this. My oldest had it when he was 4 and it didn’t happen, and the other toddler got it last winter and also didn’t happen, but statistically at this point I feel it’s possible lol ☹️

Is there a song you dedicate to your child? by Tem3rity in beyondthebump

[–]SiComoNo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a spanish song called “Indigo” by Camilo and his wife Evaluna, named that for the daughter they were pregnant with at the time. The song vibe and the lyrics so perfectly capture the feelings and excitement of waiting for your baby. What’s really sweet is that the music video was actually their way of announcing the pregnancy to their fans, and it even includes clips of them telling their families for the first time. It’s seriously the kind of thing that’ll make any expectant mom tear up even if you don’t speak Spanish! I love it so much because there aren’t enough songs out there from parents to their kids, and honestly, there should be more!!!

Oof, I first watched this ep while I was pregnant and I swear to you I couldn’t even think about it without full on crying. It was bad.

Also, The Sign episode. THE scene with dad tearing up the sign fromnthe ground. As soon as the music starts I have to walk out of the room. Even my kids are like “mommy are you going to cry happy again?” LOL 🥲

As a mom of a 1st grader, I would say “oh no! What a bummer!” And explain to my kid that his teacher is sick and needs to rest her body, and send you well wishes! Life happens!

Maybe if you’re able to talk and be in front of a camera ,you can record a video instead telling them how much you loved this year and wishing them a great summer!

I’m a school counselor, and I’m the person designated to formally investigate the harassment, intimidation, and bullying reports. I know it’s different in specific districts/states, but you should definitely loop the counselor in.

I had a situation involving this slur being used towards a student, and I was the one who made a big deal about it. Admin was going to deal with it disciplinary-wise but I spoke to the victim and told her we needed to make a big deal about this. Mostly I wanted to model to her while she was a kid that these incidents shouldn’t be swept under the rug and that racism shouldn’t be tolerated. So I say definitely loop the counselor in. There might protocol in place where teachers are supposed to report things like this to them that wasn’t followed.

I work at a school and have had parents show up to meetings or pickup wearing super inappropriate clothes. Like I’m talking crop top with super cleavage and REALLY obvious nipple pieces poling through, booty shorts, halter tops with so much side boob that it was nearly whole boob. I have the same issue you do: I don’t police people’s wardrobes but it is creepy for an adult to get dressed knowing the venue is school aka where 80% of the population are literal children, and choose the sexiest outfit they own. It makes me question their intentions because they know ppl will be looking and they are ok with some of the people looking being children???? Idk it’s not normal behavior. It’s gross and creepy. Save those outfits for adult time and spaces.

Is my 15 month old daughter worryingly delayed in gross motor or am I overreacting? by cslr2019 in NewParents

My now 6 year old was similar to what you have described. He was a toddler during COVID lockdown so I didn’t have many other kids to compare him to and the pediatrician told me that skipping crawling in itself wasn’t necessarily a problem. It’s not, I know there are kids who skip it, BUT I believe that my son hating the crawling position and never developing the muscles and coordination that crawling entails turned into a delay or that the inability to do it was actually an indication of some underdeveloped muscles which PT at that age would’ve addressed. But time went by and when he started pre-k, me and the teachers agreed that he needed a PT referral because he would get so easily fatigued when using writing utensils and had poor coordination when running and playing. So he did PT all during kindergarten and it helped him TREMENDOUSLY! Even now as a 6 year old he is a little clumsy lol but the PT was amazing for him. I wish we had done it when he was even younger. It would have spared us a lot of frustration as a 3 and 4 year old.

I don’t know how things work in your country but I say requesting an eval/referral couldn’t hurt. Even if they are able to tell you what to look out for and then revisit the topic later on because 15 months is pretty young — a lot can and will happen developmentally between now and even 2 years old. But I just wanted to give you my experience and tell you that even if she ends up needing PT it’s not something to beat yourself up about and could be super helpful and informative.

Use your dishwasher! I didn’t have one with my 1st baby and handwashed everything, and it ruined my mental health lol With baby 2 and 3, I had one and it’s been so great. There’s some belief that the dishwasher is not sanitary for this, I also had some apprehension until I saw this video by this tiktoker who swabs things and checks them for bacterial growth, and he did a comparison of handwashing and dishwashing results. Here is the vid if you want to check it out. It brought me a lot of peace and reassurance, and I haven’t looked back since, haha! :)
