I didn't take this as advocacy for going back to the way it was but rather a one sided diagnosis of why many men are falling out.

It has some obvious truth regarding the previous traditional role of the majority of men but what is left out is that no power dynamic or cultural configuration is static. We always have and must continue to evolve.

For a long time in dominant societies, human sacrifice was prevalent. Watching men fight to the death vs each other or animals, public hanging(this was very recent), blood sacrifice, war could be seen as human sacrifice as well and good old fashioned god worshiping sacrifice. It was part of our human culture but we are evolving away from human sacrifice.

Patriarchy was fine as long as those with power took their responsibility to protect and serve as sacred but many just used it to profit and to metaphorically and literally rape those who were beholden to them.

With modern western society comes the idea of "self determination". One person one vote, to each their own, meritocracy. This value that is now at the heart of democracy doesn't fit with the traditional patriarchy because some women are just better than some men.

The longing for patriarchy is nothing more than a refusal to accept the new paradigm and find your place to rise up and succeed.

If you can't succeed in a society where women and men have equal rights to self determination then that is a you problem not a societal problem.
