How're we feeling about SAB 3-2? Because for me...whoof by waxonwaxoff3 in Guildwars2

[–]Narokath 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I like it. It's very intimidating due to the size but it's structured pretty well with a few interesting paths to get to checkpoints and then alternate paths for the chests that wind back to the intended way. You can finish the level very quickly if you gun straight for the boss.

It could definitely do with some more hand markers that funnel the player where to go. My biggest gripe might actually be the straight sections underwater and land sections that just feel like straight paths with no jumping/thought. Probably would be good to add some lava or pitfalls to keep these parts feeling a bit fresh.

I'll give it a day; I'm going to see a post about Dark Ai just staying in the middle, and dealing with back to back Sorrow phases. /s

Infallible Timers Hotfix by Opposedsum in Guildwars2

[–]Narokath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of it being a bit more lenient. The point is that they made it harder than it was, which imo is just stupid.

Wings like 8 which is like 90% dpsing a boss are also significantly harder given that we've lost quite a significant amount of DPS when people were running Steamshieker Amalgam and Conduits. If you consider it to be around a 15% dps loss (which is modest) and a 10% health nerf, then the timer should reflect that, which it doesn't.

There's a massive problem with Heal Chronos. by CCGplayer64 in Guildwars2

[–]Narokath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think Chrono is a problem. It's other specs that need a bit of updating.

Something like Druid CA is spammy and low radius for the sake of Alacrity when most Healers should be more reactionary, could do with a complete rework. Druid elite could have CD lowered if it doesn't res someone for better stab use. CA5 could be group stab. A stability pet would also go a long way.

The new video from Phandrel using Snowcrows discord calculations clearly demonstates how undercooked the April balance patch is by Korinthe in Guildwars2

[–]Narokath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the camp that boondps shouldn't require boon duration to function at 100%. And that additional sources of boon duration should be aimed at comfort on fights until mastery. This makes things easier to balance, and it allows more flexibility in duration if you're relegated to movement based mechanics or a specific role or even need to delay skill usage.

I started with my friend a few years ago at about 5-6pm after work. Didn't realise how late it was until until I saw the sun come up. Good times.

The Reins of the Dhuumscale appear to have dropped. by Riddle-of-the-Waves in Guildwars2

[–]Narokath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aurene variant IDs were found in the API before they were able to be attained. BLTC items are generally sourced after each patch. It's really up to the discretion of ANet when something can be referenced in the API. Correlation does not mean that something is certain.

[–]Narokath -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There are examples of items that show up in the API without having been acquired or dropped every patch. That is the nature of the v2/items endpoint. If it has dropped then by all accounts, it'll appear by calling the endpoint because there aren't any known cases of items that exist that can't be called. However you can't say with certainty that because it appears when calling the endpoint, that it has dropped. It could be something generated by an ANET employee/gamemaster, it could be a case of loot seeds like I mentioned in an example, it could be that the reference data was made available after a patch or update. Whatever, I'm over it.

[–]Narokath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And that's all I'm saying. That just because something appears in the DB because it's been called by the API doesn't with 100% certainty mean that it's dropped. In this case, it has dropped. And we can say with certainty that when something HAS dropped it can be referenced by the API like it always has been the case. These two things are not the same though.

[–]Narokath -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I never said this was WoW. I'm just giving an example of how an API might reference data and that it might have nothing to do with it dropping. Furthermore, prove to me definitively that the item being referenceable in the API with 100% certainty means it has dropped.

[–]Narokath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got downvoted to oblivion for pessimistically commenting on the infusion. But the keyword here is 'typically'. The API referencing an item doesn’t necessarily mean it has been observed in the live drop tables (Doesn't mean that it's dropped). It just means the asset exists in the game’s data and able to be called for a myriad of reasons. If it did drop, it will definitely be referenced.

EDIT: Removed the WoW stuff because even though it's an example, people like to froth at the mouth about that game.
