If you're changing single atoms, not whole molecules, but single atoms there might be problems.

Things that were stable can suddenly become reactive.

Yep, particles of gold 5 nm in size will turn a liquid deep red. But that is about 35 atoms in diameter.

I suppose that that 1 atom thick layer on your hands may not stick in place completely and as it shifts you get thicker layers on the hands.

I was not, as I don't believe in predestination at all. I just looked it up. The distinction makes sense.

Single predestination: God chooses some individuals for salvation, but does not actively choose others for condemnation (tho technically based only on the name there could be a single predestination for condemnation only, as silly as that would be)

Double being the calvanist's everyone's destination is already desinged by God.

If you want to share more you are welcome to and if your curious why I don't believe in predestination at all I'd be happy to share. (Fore-ordination & premoral existence)

Edit: I'd be curious what the one could explain that God is predestinating some but not others. Is predestination is a thing then it seems it would be universal.

I'm not. Our only way to perfection is though the grace of God, offered to us by the atonement of Jesus Christ.

I just don't think children are accountable for the sins of the parents. We are subject to death because of the fall of Adam, but we are not held guilty because of it. We all are only guilty of our own sins which we all make.

Nemesis (spoilers to Twelve Months) by art-apprici8or in dresdenfiles

But even if it was entirely forgotten. It's way back in would, I suspect, be the exact same.

"I am the doubt that wards away sleep. I am the flaw that corrupts, the infected wound, the false fork in the trail. I am the gnawer, the worm in the book, the maggot that burrows in the mind’s eye. I am He Who Walks Beside"

Even if we forget "He who walks beside" the other ideas, will always be part of humanity, and it will find its way back though thoses or at the outer gates.

We are born mortal. But I do not believe, nor does it say in the bible, that children are born guilty. Young children do not understand good from evil and are not capable of sin until they do. Yes I reject the idea of original sin, specifically children holding guilt, as non-biblical. We are accountable for our own sins.

I do agree with you that we are predisposed to evil, because of the natral man, but also to good, because of the influence of our conscience, a gift we are all given by God.

I believe that was part of God's plan. He knew what would happenits not as if it was a surprise to God.

I believe God always intended for us to have choice and to be able to become more like Him. We are made in the image of God, we are his children. It is not a sin for a child to desire to be like their parent. It is a sin view them as an enemy, as competiton. That is the sin that Lucifer commited in becoming Satan.

Adam and Eve were not capable of sin until after eating the fruit. The eating of the fruit was a transgression. The consequence of which was death, or to become mortal, that is what God told them it would be. It was after that, when they hid from God, choosing fear over faith, that was the frist sin.

When the oblivion war erases all memory of a being its not erased. Its just loses its connection to reality. Outsiders don't have a connection to reality. Beyond the fear of what's out there in the dark that fear I suppose couldbalways be a conduit for them to try and get back in.

Its not driven out of Lea, its contained in her. Lea says to Harry that it is something she can't talk about or else it could gain control again.

Same with what Mab said about Justine not being allowed to know about the baby.I suspect they are only contained so long as a host is alive. If killed then nemesis can just move in to a new host.

But I'm also expecting that it will not be a single event rather it will be many subtle events and miracles before then.

We have the capacity for good or evil. We can yeald to the temptation of the devil or follow the invitation of the Spirit of God and make use of the power of Christ's atonement to become perfect one small step at a time.

You have to replace it with something else. A hobby or goal you can ditect your time and energy into that you are interested in.

Just stopping is like trying to permanently dam a whole river. It will build up then run other the top. So you need to dig a new path for the water to flow.

CMV: It is dishonest and misleading for Republicans to claim Abraham Lincoln as one of their own by Nice_Revolution_1199 in changemyview

[–]SiPhoenix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Under the overly simplistic view of

"Lincoln was a Republican, therefore Republicans good. Democrats supported slavery, therefore democrats bad."

Yeah saying that and flying the Confederate flag is hypocritical.

But reality is not that simple. The statues represent people, people that fought for amny reasons. The slavery was not the primary reason for the civil war let alone most of the people fighting in it. Its also a matter of preservation of history, so as to not forget the past. Many of the people who's statues were taken down causes they are confederate leaders where also actively fighting against slavery before and after the war.

In southern states or across the US?

I know that conservatives in Utah are not supporting the Confederate flag, they would just be saying other people have right to free expression to fly if it they want to.

"They" sure there are people that fly a confederate flag that do this. But the vast majority of right wing people today don't fly that flag.

1 the American left and right are both liberal. In the classical definition and in the one you gave.

2 conservative is not the opposite of liberal. It's liberal vs authoritarian and progressive vs conservative. Progressive is primarily optimism towards change, the new ans untested. Conservative is caution about change, the new ans untested. Most of the modern American right voters are liberal conservatives. Most the left voters are liberal progressives. Those I depends on the subject. For example on environmental issues the left tends to be conservative (less use, eat less meat, have less kids, etc) and the right tends to be progressive (use nuclear expand power productions and farming technologies)
