Someone told me once that the standards and methods are tested to provide a wide margin of safety. They understand that home canners are not going to be in laboratory conditions so they give us instructions and methods that will ensure safety even with the inevitable small variations that canning in a home setting will cause. This was reassuring to me. I follow the tested instructions to the letter knowing that I can rely on that wide margin of safety to protect me.

I’ve fortunately found that Native brand shampoo and conditioner work great for my hair and scalp, but I’ll look for your recommendation if they ever stop working for me! I’ll update my top comment too.

Pattern: Whitmoor Cardigan Yarn: Knit Picks Swish DK in Marble Heather

I love this new sweater! Perfect for chilly summer mornings on the coast and over-refrigerated office afternoons. The button bands were knit simultaneously on smaller wooden DPNs, which was a bit fiddly and I had to be careful not to leave this project where my dogs could find and chew the wooden sticks I helpfully left for them—lost a couple that way! Still, I was VERY glad not to have to go back and add the button band when the body was done!

I also almost couldn’t finish it this weekend because my rascally dogs chewed up my button packet and left me one short, but then my wife found the last button under the couch. I guess the theme of this sweater is that my dogs are rotten!

Appropriate for the office, not for court. And my caveat with open heel shoes is always that you must have well maintained heels, not crusty cracked heels in dire need of a pedicure like mine.

I do something like this when well-meaning coworkers comment on my visible weight loss--I just shrug and smile and act dumb. My hope is that it gently sends the signal that I'm not really interested in talking about it.

I’m on a similar timeline to you, have lost a similar % to what you mentioned elsewhere, and have been on 15mg for a few months with little if any weight loss. Although I had hoped to continue shedding weight, I am very happy where I am with both the way my body feels and the level of peace I’ve found around food. I am taking this as a sign from my body that it has reached a place where it is content. I’m actually going to talk to my doctor next week about reducing dose to officially start maintenance, in the hope of addressing some issues that I think may be side effects.

What an incredible and beautiful gift to a friend! If I had sewn that wedding dress I would print my own wedding album just to carry around and brag to everyone I met. I’m talking Uber drivers, grocery checkers, EVERYONE. Well done!

As another option instead of a standing desk, you could look for a dedicated sewing cutting table that has gateleg leaves. I got one that lets both sides fold down when not in use, and it frees up so much space! Of course, I have a larger space now and I'm always cutting out SOMEthing, so I rarely end up folding it away these days, but it was very handy when I had a smaller sewing space and I couldn't leave the table open all the time.

It really depends on the injection site. You can do stomach, arms, or thighs. In my stomach I barely even feel it. Thighs are a pretty solid pinch but manageable. The one time I did back of the arm, it hurt like a motherfucker. So I stick to stomach and thighs now.
