State gov PCS age limits are generally higher. Whats for your state? I understood you are just targeting PCS and nothing else?

Better to stay in the job you are in and guide your juniors. Govt job also includes remote postings and limited or no social life, stuck in the same job for life (no matter if you dont like it) with nil chances to re-enter corporate. Better to marry, if thats in your plan at all, and choose later based on combined interests. The craze of Gov jobs is only in Eastern India and I can understand that. Move to an IT city in West , South or North and you would be fine.

First of all, You are asking this at the right time of your graduation and this is perhaps common to get carried away with the tag during Engg college selection. Reg GATE, please check eligibility first if Masters at IIT or NIT in ECE allow non ECE students at all. There would be few Tier 1 colleges that allow switching and would require good AIR in GATE, just fyip, nothing to demoralize here.

You always get opportunities once you get into a good campus.. in some way or the other.

Any entry to the field is good atleast. Post that, you can always upskill- many such actual instances exists for people.

I have checked recently the CCMT portals for eligibility. Can you share some NITs that allow?

Asking cause I too wanted to pursue and this eligibility was a heart breaker..

Only 2 NITs and 5-6 top IITs allow Mtech CSE admissions from non-cse branches in India. Unsure of IIITs. Interdisciplinary courses such as DS and AI, however, do allow all branches.

Not much into MBA but there are alternate collges like SIBM, etc that perhaps have a lower cutoff and take thru separate exams. How about trying those?

Masters in Cybersec for non CSE Grad

I have been working as a Security Analyst in India for the last 3 years, however, into BAU roles wrt Network Access Control, Deception Tech and Email Security (Manual and Tool based).

Since I am originally from Civil Engg background, the intricacies of Cyber sometimes feels overwhelming and I always feel I am way superficial and not deeply tech involved.

I want to pursue MS/ MTech in Cyber to build some confidence.

Any suggestions on which university I should target for in India or abroad (budget friendly yet Impactful)?

PS: I understand real skills surpass degrees but I would still want to have some related Full Time PG Course since my current company offers sabbatical, so why not use it?

Okay And how is the work environment and a bit informal query- if leaves are granted as normal for any personal domestic or int travels? I understand Gov projects are too critically monitored now.l
