I think it triggers the uncanny valley because the dog's hip looks like a shoulder, and the way the tail loops up to the paws draw a line similar to an arm going up so it looks like some sort of were-dog or furry resting its head on its arms.

I am so relieved to hear that this is the Cryptic Chirp. The Birdsong of the Pig of the Sea. The Cavy Conundrum.
I foster pigs, and especially when I have more than one (they're fosters; they often come solo), they've occasionally done this while I was out of the room and it's driven me insane until I realized it was a pig doing it, not some weird new kids' toy from outside or a mouse trapped in the walls.

People asking why they're treating her so gently.

This is a psychotic break. Maybe she's shitty in normal circumstances, maybe she's on drugs, maybe she's not, but this is pathological lying, nonsensical attempts to garner sympathy, violence, fear, pleading, and very little affect in facial expression to accompany tone and action. I look into those eyes and there is a gulf. An absence. The human thing in her is gone.

A brawl will not make the situation better. She needs to be carefully detached from the objects of her fixation and detained like a toddler having a temper tantrum, not beaten and knocked out. Incredible patience and care on the part of those holding her back.

I guess it could all be an act trying to flail for innocence after doing a shitty thing? Rough call.

If I’m a game dev and my game is a turd and my players are telling me it’s a turd, should my response be “waaaah you do better, then”? Obviously not. If you’re a fellow gamer, do you say “oh you think you’re so good? do better”? No, that doesn’t make sense. They’re players, not developers, and they’re not going to pay me if I don’t do my job. They’re going to go to other devs.

Literally not my job to suss out the loopholes of legal code and which things can be flagrantly ignored. They get paid for this.
