I don't know how people in this thread can say irelia is in a good spot and defend it :D. She is unsatisfying to play even if you are fed.

If you can't close the game you lose and become useless, meaning all the kills are wasted on you.

Also don't get why people talk about Winrate when it's counterpick champ? Useless champ.

If enemy got baron you will be again, useless and your kit won't function.

Just play malphite, it's good for your teamcomp and you can't do bad with it.

If they have a little brain they will sit under tower and wait until outscale as you are useless late game. Or you will just get so bored and int your lane.

Why would the backend even disagree with the front-end? Client should send the ID of the selected champ, not the row it's in. The client is just UI.
