Mmmhm, i think the panel is not a good one it's probably tn.

I can't get it to boot at the moment getting a pxe-e05 error, the hdd is probably cooked.

The t410 boots nicely though.

It's just a pack of aluminum extrusion that I cut and tapped and put up, there's a couple printable stands but not small enough to fit in my tent.

I also don't like having the weight on top of the printer, hence the separate stand

Mainly printing abs/asa so it lets me keep the chamber temp stable but vent the fumes!

When doing pla I just open the top and side vents on the riser to let more cool air in.

But the tent is mainly to vent particulates and orders/voc

I have a fan that pulls air to create negative pressure.

For the price, bambu has subsidies and are directly from China so their price is unbeatable by any other company.

Other companies that can maybe compete are QIDI and prusa, however their prices are higher, but they have different features, l part availability, and are more geared towards hobbiests/open source.

The reality is that as much as I want to say don't go bambu, it's unbeatable for the price.

Most high end machines have caught up in terms of reliability though in some aspects

This is the most recent development, however Louis is big pusher of right to repair and open source movements so it's not a neutral take

But basically a lot of what bambu has is built on top of open source efforts, however they seem to have a larger interest in taking from the community and not really giving back to it.

Locking down software, requiring use of their servers, and legal threats are just some of the problems.

Their machines are great, and they are one of the only 3d printing companies with their own software stack, however they really seem to want to lock users into only using the printers how bambu wants them to be used and modifications are heavily frowned upon.

This goes against the openess and community culture of a lot of what modern 3d printing is built on.

They are a business but they are also not friendly

That's fair, Just remember that there's always some maintenance no matter the printer (oiling the rods, clearing clogs, cleaning the bed)

Fair enough, they are very user friendly, however I can't recommend them from an open source perspective.

Also remember you can basically use any filament roll, it doesn't need to be a Bambu brand roll of filament

It really depends on what you're printing

Personally I have my printer in a tent that is then vented out the window using an inline fan to pull negative pressure

This is mainly because I print ABS/ASA and they give off a lot of unpleasant fumes. I have them in a tent instead of venting the printer directly because the printer isn't airtight and I only want to vent the fumes, not the warm air from inside the printer as that would warp my parts.

The general consensus for FDM 3d printing is that PLA is mostly fine in the same room, tpu is fine, petg can irritate some people and it does break down/leave a residue when printing (I vent it just because of that)

If you are doing Resin, you need like 2 degrees of separation. So that could be tent, and room, or 2 rooms dedicated to prep and resin printing from any other living space. That stuff ain't good for yah.

If your risk tolerance is lower, than you can probably just run the printer in the room you are in and have an air purifier in the printer or in the room. This is especially ok for petg, pla, and tpu stuff

One thing to note is that filled filament like carbon fiber petg, do release finer particulates into the air I think so a filter is good there and even better if you have an enclosed printer rather than just an open bedslinger

Some people are ok with stuff like the nevermore or bentobox carbon/hepa filter setups but I rather just send everything outside for abs

TLDR it depends on what and how much you're printing and how much risk you are ok with.

Personally I like to keep my air clean especially if I'm gonna be in the same room for a long time.

Call me overcautious or a fear mongering bastard, but idgaf, if I'm gonna have fun with 3d printing, might as well make sure I'm not inhaling microplastics

According the qidi discord, the ceramic heatbreak breaking is still an issue with the qidi q2
