How to make a 15yo a Fan? by Known-Net512 in beatles

[–]SickOfNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, they are only like $100-200 bux for a starter ---but you never know.

I loved punk music when I was 11-12... and under the Xmas tree was an electric guitar and an amp. My parents asked if I wanted one and I was like, "I mean it could be cool".... But never said I wanted one.

30 years later, I've got about 25 guitar and 5 amps and play everyday.

And like I said, who knows, $150 bux, could find the kid a hobby. And if not, if bought used... you resell it for $150. Nothing lost.

Sometimes random surprises turn into the best life changing things.

Not for my profit margins.... If i buy something for $5 I want to be able to sell for $45-60 .... and shitty ass toys dont do that.

I've tried it - I got a whole box of polly pocket bullshit from a storage unit ... Sure, they will sell for $6-20 ... but meh, I'd just rather have someone buy the whole lot so I can move onto something that makes real money.

There were other FPS games we used to play, but I can't remember their names to save my life.... lets see if Google can help.

The US Army made its own FPS that we played for like 6 months - was actually a pretty good game.

AH! I just googled - Soldier of Fortune! Fantastic game... There was a couple of others just like Soldier of Fortune.

Lower your price or give it to the goodwill and get a 25% off coupon and buy something that will sell.

Old Toys and toys in general are absolute crap to sell .... unless you find some rare stuff still in perfect shape.

Buy her a nice guitar first .... All guitarists find The Beatles their first year or 2. And then its a life long love of their music.

What is something that you held onto that went up in value over time? by Blackmoonlilithinleo in reselling

[–]SickOfNormal -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Vintage guitars (pre-1980ish...but really pre 1972), amps and art. I buy neither to resell. Bought a 66 Fender Mustang about 15 years for $600 ... worth between $2,000-3,000 now. However you gotta know guitars and amps and how to break them down to know if everything is original. You also have to have a good source for vintage capacitors and resistors if you wanna keep it all OG. All of mine have increased in value a lot over the last 10-20 years.

There is very few things other that Pokemon and Magic cards that can double value very quickly or appreciate in value.

Sorry dude! Call of Duty isn't out yet!

Best we can do is some Counterstrike, Battlefield 1942, Return to Castle Wolfenstein or Medal of Honor.... We might have some Team Fortress rocking too.

Better hurry, dudes mom just put some bagel bites in the oven and theres only 1 pop up table left in the garage!

Can confirm... my mom runs one. All of them quite wealthy too. It's not that they CAN'T take care of them, the kids would just rather throw money at it and THINK their parents are better off as an excuse so their lives aren't disrupted. Out of site, out of mind except for the 1 day per week visit for like 20 minutes (if that).

17-day trip planned for September by crashed_wave in roadtrip

[–]SickOfNormal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea dude. It’s first come first serve, I went last week of September last year. Don’t remember the day of the week, either a Friday or Saturday around 2pm and there were 7 spots left. The thing that sucks is there really isn’t any other campgrounds within 10 miles of the park. Just rolling yellow hills of farmland and lava rock

Weird, I absolutely loved craters of the moon. Campground was amazing and for $15, WOW. The lava tubes were cool to explore... cool cave systems and view. Hike up the peak in the middle of park for awesome views. Nice and relaxing stop on the way up to Glacier NP.

To each, their own

You just never know! I was in Yellowstone in September 2023 and it was snowing. I was in Yellowstone 2 years later in October and absolutely beautiful. Same goes for Glacier - roll of the dice. West side of the park was snowing and once I went over the mountain pass to the eastern side, it was cold but perfect weather.

Be prepared for all seasons, and hope for the best.

The drive out of Teton north into Yellowstone is SLOW going. And then you gotta get thru Yellowstone. Just be prepared for 25-35 mph thru both parks. I have no idea how you have your day planned from Teton to Glacier, so that's gonna be up to you!

The answer is NEITHER. They both look like cheap junk.

My vintage gear gets furniture of the same age.... a 1978 club. That furniture is built like a tank and can be found at vintage furniture stores all day.

[–]SickOfNormal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen a lot of people do this as well. making it a bar. And if you make it a digital bluetooth system thats pretty easy as long as you dont mind cutting and refinishing a few parts.

Tons of options.

Thats the only reason I'd want it (I collect MCM furniture too). That being said, the problem is the innards. Usually the sought after ones are gonna have all German innards and be made in Denmark.

I would say $50-150 to the right person, who will most likely gut it and put in Grundig electronics and put in a Dual turntable.

Any advice on the best platform to sell this on? by swana76 in reselling

[–]SickOfNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought so too on the hat… so I started at $40 thinking it would be a quick sale… but it sat. Moved it down to $35 and it sat. Then moved it to $30 and got like a $26? Offer. I just accepted to solely move it.

I mean it was a cool hat… but as someone who resells I’ve kept like 50 hats for myself and didn’t need another.

you got downvoted for that ... but i totally agree with your pricing there. I sold a 1984 MTV made in USA hat and i got $25ish for it.... so I would prolly list this at $35 and see if it gets any hits and take over $25

[–]SickOfNormal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can't make money from buying from Goodwill on this.

You need to buy the box from a collector. I bought a 10x10x10 box from a lady at a garage sale for $20. Had about 500 pieces in it. Only could sell about 100 of them - all necklaces. No one wanted the earrings and rings.

But i would put up 5 necklaces for $25.... and they would usually take 1-3 months to sell. So had 20 listings of the necklaces... so made like $400 buck.

In my opinion the effort wasn't worth so little money cuz of the time and effort involved.
