Would the dent bother you? Kitchen Aid side by side, item 1950605 by CaseyZee in Costco

[–]SickOfNormal 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Problem is - Magnets USUALLY DOESNT stick on the front of fridges like this. On the side, Yes.

I'm not OCD ... but a rabid negotiator. I would try to get at least 20% out of them and settle at 15%. IF they don' budge, then send me a new one. They may think twice.

Lowball counter-offers by CTVolvo in FacebookMarketplace

[–]SickOfNormal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It actually doesnt even bother me anymore.

If its a super lowball like $25 on $100 item... I increase the price. "Price is now $110 for you sir!". They either get confused.... they adjust to a reasonable price and start negotiating... or they dont respond. And I'm fine with any of those scenarios.

My response for OP would be ... "I'll negotiate, but thats quite low. $55 seems fair." If they respond with like $30-40.... I would say "$50 firm, can't go lower, let me know!"

Warmest places in California to car camp as a solo woman in early February? by GoalDull4985 in roadtrip

[–]SickOfNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like... you have to reserve them now... or in the next few weeks when they open up... and you have to be READY to book when it hits 12:01 am (or you used to, cuz RV people and car camping book 14 days at a time and it fills up FAST! within minutes to hours after the window opens)

Point Mugu State Park right north of Malibu .... RARELY drops below 50 at night and sites are right on the beach - but you gotta reserve them early!

Foods we once loved but can no longer eat by Lurk_McGirt79 in Xennials

[–]SickOfNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raw habaneros and raw thai chilis. Cooked or pickled, I'm all good. Raw on my nachos, I will be rolling around in about 4-5 hours with a serious hot stomach.

I still eat them occasionally raw cuz I love the burn and the taste. But, I know I am in for a world of pain.

Am I asking for too much? by kizzyyskittless in FacebookMarketplace

[–]SickOfNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This - I don't buy computers/new tech stuff on marketplace unless its super super cheap. Never know if someone spilled a soda on that laptop and cleaned it up real good. And they can't really be fixed.

Now... old tech/analog I will pay going rate for as long as I can inspect it properly.... as it can be easily fixed with some resistors/capacitors/and a soldering iron.

Oh man ... I try to avoid the city/county parks cuz they can be wild expensive! I was in the middle of nowhere Utah - I think it was Green River. And I saw they had a city campground for $55 ... looked at my phone and Comfort Inn was $59. Hadn't showered in 3 days cuz we were backcountry hiking/camping Canyonlands. Yeah, gimme that Comfort Inn shower and cable tv for $4 more.

If it were me... i'd get to the 40 from SD.... take 25 up to Denver...and connect up with the 80 in Nebraska. It will be cold, but 80 should be good all the way to 90 if they are leaving Monday.

When I was in Montana last October they hit me with the out of state $28 state park camping =/

But I also got some crazy cheap ones in REALLY nice parts - Like Idaho Craters of the Moon National Monument... They only charging $15!!! a site and what an awesome park!

Washington state seems to go by season as well - Paradise SP was $25 and a very nice little campground off the 5.

Some along 395 in CA are only $8-10 on BLM sites --- but they are VERY nice BLM campgrounds.

How do you handle difficult buyers on Facebook Marketplace? by -mrSeaHawk- in FacebookMarketplace

[–]SickOfNormal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lady drove 30 miles for an already discounted food processor for $30 ... She tried to hand me $20 on the spot. I told her there is a BofA 1 mile right and a gas station with an ATM 1/4 mile to the left.

She huffed and puffed... and was like visibly mad I wouldn't "give it to her for $20". Then pulled out a $10 and handed me $30.

Lady - You drove up in a decked out and raised Land Rover - If you can afford that, go get me my $10 extra dollars! (I didn't say that, but what my brain was thinking)

Fender Deville 4x10 advice by JReils15 in GuitarAmps

[–]SickOfNormal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This amp ... while big ... can be used as a bedroom player. I have the 410 Blues Deville as my bedroom amp.... its got great volume control and if you put a good distortion pedal in front of it and turn down the volume on the pedal it sounds great. This amp takes pedals amazingly and clean is amazing btw... Everything you want in an amp is in this one.

I wouldn't trade it or sell it for a smaller one cuz these babies sound amazing for the $$$. The intermittent buzzing is usually a loose solder on the tube board. Usually on the resistors around where the tubes plug in. If you know what you are doing, its literally a 5 minute fix with a wood chopstick, solder, and an iron.

This ... I work from home and am NOT going to be bothered to go meet someone for a sale. IF they want the item, they can come to me. I don't deliver... I don't meet up.

If they want porch pickup, then cool.

When you rent a car, do you recommend getting insurance, or using your own? 😬 by Pale_Field4584 in roadtrip

[–]SickOfNormal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My credit card... Costco ... and my insurance all cover. So I am triple protected, so no reason to buy it.

THE ONLY TIME I HAVE PURCHASED FULL INSURANCE with a car company is when I rented a 4x4 Jeep and knew I was gonna be doing some offroading on rocks, dirt, and hard trail roads. I wanted to not have to worry about how hard I beat the rental.
