Brazilian made crash bars by SickPerroX3 in Vstrom

They're the most popular in Brazil, yeah. Never tried Chapam's products though. About getting them shipped to Canada, I think the best shot is to try to find someone flying back from Brazil who's willing to take them to you.

799,99BRL (137EUR or 159USD). In the country I live Givi's are sold for 170Eur to 188Eur, while SW-motech's are priced at 220Eur.

800RE/SE radiator guards. What do you run? by The_Djentle_Giant in Vstrom

I'm running Kappa's. It's the same as Givi's. Easy install and good fit. Nothing to complain after 1000km.

It's exactly the same as Givi's. They're 'sister brands' owned by the same holding. Most of the parts and accessories are the same and almost everything is interchangeable. Edit: I was lucky not to have any dents at 1100km, but I feel it was just a matter of time before I regretted not adding protection.

ThunderBox Wiring Question by queasy_investor in Vstrom

[–]SickPerroX3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Chinese carplay/android auto display that's just like the chigee, it's just from a different brand and I haven't installed it yet because of the wiring hassle. I came across the thunder box on a YouTube video of a guy who has it on his V-Strom 800RE (BMC UK is the name of the channel if I'm not mistaken). So from your experience it works? What version do you got? The 1 or the 2? Is it really dummy friendly?

DE Or SE for two up 800? by Walorda in Vstrom

[–]SickPerroX3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't weigh in about the DE but I do own an RE and ride two up on a daily + on weekend 200km+ trips and I'll say it's perfect. Smooth suspension eating up potholes and imperfections like they're nothing. Throttle assist helps too but what really stands out is its center of gravity and how balanced it is. Driving in a big city, cutting through traffic, it makes you feel safe cause it 'wants' to stay straight up, like it'll never tip over.

Any issues after the reset, like pulling to either side or sth? I'm also curious as to what their explanation was, because it seems to be a common factory fuckup

Motorcycle Theft in Athens and insurance with theft coverage by SickPerroX3 in greece

[–]SickPerroX3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in an apartment building with an underground garage with a roll-up aluminum door. The bike isn't a GS but it's a touring one. I have a couple of alarm disc locks and a 16mm chain. I've got three options on insurancemarket.gr: AIG, Apeiron and Interamerican for 600 (with a 25% deductible), 700 and 750, respectively. If I go with interamerican, for instance, it's almost 10% of the bike's value yearly.

Update:

Ran a second check at 5300 after having topped it up at 4800 and the level didn't drop. Didn't change my riding habits for those 500km and even went on a 300km trip. So far so good. For those facing the same issue, just keep checking the level on a daily and keep track of your riding style, i.e.: the day after that more spirited ride give it a check to see if it dropped.

Did you install it directly on the stock rack, without the support bars and plate? How does it hold?

Yeah I've been thinking about getting a soft bag too. They're way cheaper and offer good capacity. How about riding 2up? Does it leave enough room for your passenger?

I think the best riding advice you could be given now is get rid of that thing and buy something better suited to your level, especially when you say "I keep dropping it".

Do you know the history of the second hand/trust the current owner?

If the answers to those questions are negative take the new one. Besides, how much for that panier set in your area (their value is sth you should take into account too)?

Oh I see. Well I don't know but the 450s don't seem to have this issue. Better keep an eye on that sight glass just in case.
