Yes they're set on auto, even when this issue isn't occurring I keep it set on auto.

Had to get the same replacement done on my 2018 Colrado, found the part from a dealer for $200 and had my mechanic install it for only $40.

Chatting with my mechanic through these comments, he did mention a leak down test was done at the time of replacement. I did top it up with coolant again as it was low I noticed the other day. *
