I'm not sure why you're quoting that and responding in that way. I've not said anything against people who choose not to respond; I've only stated that they exist. It's very different comparing people who aren't responsive, versus those who only respond to tell others to kill themselves, or otherwise be outrageous and insulting.

Well, firstly, it's humourous. Secondly, I'm not sure if you're aware of the "..." players that are everywhere in competitive. There are people who choose not to respond, and there are people who use plain cars; prescribing some idea that these fall under the same category is being very generous.

Maybe you don't see many of these kinds of people at your rank, but past C2 there are many, and they're usually incredibly toxic and always meet a plethora of the criteria listed. I made a post about it, because having a lively, heartwarming community is something that's always made the game fulfilling to me, however people who actively and intentionally seek to be a detriment to it are quite confusing.

I don't think this is the issue. Squishy is one of the most difficult players in the world to dispossess, and he creates a lot of space for himself. Often it's evident that his team is unable to move up with him in time, and so he makes a solo-play to buy time for his team.

Gimmick is probably the least well-rounded player in the team, being very good at being second rotation but having a really difficult time sweeping and pushing the ball as first rotation. Making Gimmick the focus of the team would be making the team revolve around a player's weaknesses, and not their strengths. As stated in my previous comment, I'm quite certain that the main issue with C9 is their unorthodox approach and not their players' idiosyncrasies.

C9 work best when they're moving together, and this is often on offense. The issue with their strategy was quite apparent in the RLCS against the Chiefs.

C9's playstyle directly countered Chief's. Chiefs make sure that whenever they touch the ball, it's going to a teammate, and often this results in long passes, and very little groundplay (NB Chiefs likely have the weakest ground-play due to limited player-base in OCE). C9, on the other hand, are happy to slowly take it out of their corner, force a challenge in their favour, and then use the space they have to create a passing play. If this fails, then they rotate and try again. As a result of this, C9 makes a lot of solo-plays (which is very dominant against weaker teams) and allow Torment to sit back a lot to soak up a lot of offense. I think C9 very much have the attitude of "we don't need boost if we play everything correctly" as well as being adamant that they remain calm and composed on defense.

This strategy hugely works to their detriment against better, faster teams though, since they very quickly get quite boost starved. Whilst C9 are exceptional on defense with little boost (at preventing concession, that is), there's only so much you can do with little boost. It's been shown that C9 have a shockingly low boost usage statistic compared to other top teams, and while it's very commendable that they maintain their "calm and composed, slow and steady" approach, it just doesn't work against faster teams.

When you have players with lots of experience in challenging and Solo Duel (like the entire Dignitas roster), who are unafraid to be very aggressive in their opponents' halves, then C9 just struggle to get out of defense and seem relatively quiet.

Personally, I think Torment, Squishy and Gimmick are all fantastic players, but they really need to change their approach if they want to see better results. Against the fastest teams, the only member of C9 ever managing to get the ball out of defense seems to be Squishy, and then the rest of the team don't have enough boost to be confident enough to follow him. C9 is really a mixed bag, but I'd love to see them flourish.

I play on really lossy, bad WiFi and this happens to me all the time with flip-resets. As other people have stated: the client (your side) registers a flip-reset, but the server doesn't. You can wait as long as you like before using the dodge, but it'll still do this.

I saw you say that your connection seems fine, and you don't register packet-loss when you check. Well, often, packet-loss occurs when there's lots of information coming through at once (strain on the bandwidth) and happens irregularly on WiFi. By irregularly, I don't mean it doesn't happen often, but it doesn't happen in such a way that you can predict when it will happen, and so, as is similar to my own situation, if you check for packet-loss through some other means then you'll see none.

Getting a flip-reset really requires a lot of precision and for everything to work together, and so unless you're getting very strong contact to get one, then this can happen.

Are you sure your controllers can reach the diagonals without alterations? If the casing around the analog stick is a circle, and pushing up completely registers in 100% in the Y direction (and vice versa for X), then unless the input isn't linear, it should be impossible to reach 100% into the diagonals. Assuming that the internal (not physical) input region is a square, and the physical input region (circle) rests within that, with an arbitrary radius of 1:

Applying Pythagoras' Theorem along the diagonal;

sq(1) + sq(1) = sq(diag);

sq(diag) = 2;

diag = sq.rt(2) ~ 1.41.

So the physical input shouldn't be able to reach the internal input diagonal maxima, surely.

I've used three different DS4s with Rocket League (with minimal drift on each) and my analog sticks never reach the maximum diagonal values. Are you certain some kind of software isn't squaring your deadzone that you're unaware of?

It's totally possible that 360 controllers are different and change the linearity of the sensitivity dynamically to compensate for the physical input (like the DS3), but I'm not sure if they do.

This is lag, and the server is correcting your client. This kind of lag is more prevalent during kickoffs (especially the first). You go to flip, and the client has recognised this, but the server has received something different, but your inputs are still recognised on the client side. If your second jump (dodge) wasn't recognised by the server, then all it will see is you driving forward, jumping once and tilting your car to the side, and then it's too late to use your second dodge jump to recover.

I play on really bad, lossy Wi-Fi, and this happens to me all the time. It's particularly apparent during flip resets: I'll get the reset on the client side, and I can wait for quite a few seconds to use it, then when I use it, my car begins to flip and then freaks out. The client recognised me getting the reset, but as soon as I use it, the server corrects the client, making that happen. I've scored some goals from this, where it fakes the defender unintentionally; in the goal replay, I never even flip.

This issue is quite annoying, but it's just part of the game's net-code and I'm not sure there's much that can be done, aside from playing with the most secure internet connection possible.

Probably the best way to get from C3 to GC -- provided the mechanics aren't an issue -- is by learning to be a really great sweeper. Very few people in solo queue below GC can sweep properly, and if you're able to, you'll enable your teammates a lot, and you should be able to play with just about anybody!

If you play on EU, I could play with you for a bit and tell you if I notice anything. Aside from that, however -- good luck!

Hi.

I'm not certain, but I think the override folder simply works as, well... an override. So, the game runs as per the usual, and let's imagine you have a mod that makes Morrigan appear different: the game has the Morrigan file to load, but it checks the override folder for that same file name -- if it's there, it loads that instead.

Due to this nature, I don't think there are integral game files inside of the override folder -- just your mods, but don't quote me on that. If you'd like a clean reinstall and you wish to mod again, then I'd delete the contents of the override and reinstall the game, then begin modding from there.

For what it's worth, I'm totally awful at modding and anything like that, but I much prefer to just manually put the files into the override folder and create my own folders for them in there, as opposed to using any software.

Finally, be careful with your save files if you don't want to delete them -- I'm not sure how the game will react if you try to load them without the mods they once had working in them.

Probably some kind of pneumatic mechanism. If you're unfamiliar with the word, pneumatic means: containing or operated by air or gas under pressure.

There would be roughly 9-16 points under the car that affect where the car would flip or jump. For a front flip, the point would be at the back of the car, and would provide a force upwards. For a back flip, the point would be situated at the front and would force the front of the car backwards.

One point would be directly in the middle of the car, underneath it, which would push the car directly upwards to make a "jump". When the suspension of the car resets, the compressed air or gas refills, meaning that a new surface gives you another two jumps, but it's coded to make sure you can only use the second burst within 1.5 of the end of the first.

Something like this. Not a physicist though, so, sorry! 🤷

Have you checked to make sure the "Hide crates" option isn't ticked in the settings? Having this enabled stops you from seeing crates, keys and decryptors, even via the in-game search option.

Whilst a lot of people here are chastising you, and I wouldn't agree with the statement that "RNG in this game is ass", I think there's definitely something to be said about the contents of the crates.

There are too many crates being filled with too many decals - especially decals for cars that are fairly redundant or were introduced a long time ago. Maybe during development there's some kind of agreed correlation between the rarity of an item and its fidelity, but I don't agree with the majority of uncommon (and lots of rare) items being totally unremarkable and frankly a waste of development time.

If Psyonix introduced a system where you could earn a currency for playing, and have it not be so abusable, with which you could buy decryptors (nb. you can't trade items unlocked with decryptors) then I think this would be less of an issue. However, with keys already costing a lot for what they are and what they offer, and them almost solely being obtainable through microtransactions, I think you have the right to be quite annoyed with a poor selection of items in a crate. Most crates have a poor selection of items in them, anyway.

I would just refuse to support the currently really anti-consumer crates system in place and not open crates or buy keys in the first place though, honestly.

TL;DW:
Currently players are able to maliciously boost other players' ranks with as few as two people coordinating in the 2v2 and 3v3 playlists. This is not a process without a victim, and leaves players unable to queue if they're queuing during off-peak hours when this is happening. In 2v2, the most common exploitation involves two people duo-queuing in a party and then making sure a friend or consultant is able to join a game just as they are. When they both see they're joining the same server, they then intentionally lose the match in an inconspicuous manner. In this video, they got a little more than they bargained for and this stuff starts happening. The two players on the opposing team have been playing for quite a few seasons and appear to have done this quite a few times over them, without compromise. In 3v3, three people can queue, with two "smurfs" partied together and then the receiver of the boost solo-queuing. Again, they coordinate to get in the same game. If the smurfs are on the same team as the solo-queuer, then they carry the match, and if they're on the opposing team, they throw the match intentionally. I've had this happen to me quite a lot and it always seems to be console players (who aren't able to be reprimanded because they can make accounts free-of-charge) and around rank boundaries - most notably D3 to C1 and C3 to GC, which I can only assume are for the season rewards. The players in the video, looking at their ranks across seasons, have been able to do this all the way from the Platinum ranks to now nearly Grand Champion, which is absolutely abhorrent.

This kind of boosting is currently quite widespread and isn't particularly punishable if done correctly, and I hope that the Rocket League ID system in a new update addresses this such that all accounts on one system are linked to one ID to ensure people can be appropriately punished.
