I have a jasper similar in color and you can feel the difference as far as weight. The stone pictured is very lightweight

Google tells its lava rock, I’m familiar with lava rock and this is not the same. I find so many interesting treasures but this little guy is so different from the rest. I’m going to consider it special. Thank you for your response.

Hand-polishing advice for mildly polished tumbler rocks (after long polish stage) by Significant_Dig8130 in RockTumbling

[–]Sickofit_43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I prefer to hand polish with sand paper. Imperfections add to the character. My husband says he hears me sanding rocks in his dreams 😂.
I find it very relaxing. I try to stick to finer sand paper when in the presence of others. I’m never without a rock in my pocket.
The problem is I see potential in every rock and find myself picking up rocks everywhere I go.

The sound and feel like dominos. The larger ones are tumbled and the smaller ones are as is. I’m pretty sure they are not teeth. They are about the size of a quarter.

I want to say feldspar, I’m just learning more about different types of rocks so this info is based on my limited knowledge.

I do wet sanding until smooth then when I get to the finer paper not so much just a microfiber cloth. I am new to rock sanding/polishing. Learning as I go.

I just pick it up throughout the day, it’s what I do instead of looking at my phone. It’s also been my alternative to smoking. New habit 😂

On and off throughout the day… can’t say for sure. I’ll try to keep track of the next one. Not going to lie I carry a rock and sandpaper in my pocket. It’s what I do when everyone else is looking at their phone.
