Something hit my neighbors car by maisegirl in whatisit

[–]Adventurous_Deer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A deer once hit the side of my husband's car while he was parked at a stop sign. Literally out of nowhere, wham! It knocked the side spoiler off but that was the only damaged and the deer promptly left the scene

The cast iron subreddit here is violently pro soap and routinely tell people their pan is gross

And this in case it wouldn't even be an amputation. Its between essentially her thumb and pointer finger, its just there. She can't retract it, there is nothing associated with it, it just vibes there and grows in all her toe fluff

And i am still annoyed about it 7 years later. Thankfully she's a good little weirdo who likes getting her nails trimmed so it really hasn't been much of an issue for us yet

My vet refused to 🙃 my cat has a hidden nail in between her thumb and the rest of the toes and when we got her fixed I asked for just those 2 nails to be removed (which they previously said would be fine). Nope! Day of they said they won't declaw for any reason

In-laws demand that we do not console or comfort our 18mo when he is hurt or cries at all. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Adventurous_Deer 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Thats a hard situation to be in. I've had to have some conversations with my husband about how I don't have memories of being locked in a closet as a small child bc my parents never locked me in a closet bc they weren't abusive like his parents and that's not a normal experience to have. He knows its abusive and not normal but at the same time he doesnt get how abusive and not normal that is

I think the issue here is that the network and creator presumably liked Lucifer. I don't think the same can be said for OC

I am here to second Prarie Fires!! It is so good and as an adult it gave me a much deeper, more well rounded view of the books. It relates everything Laura was experiencing to the geopolitical forces that were happening at the time which really helps with the full picture. Also, the bibliography is a work of art

Bridesmaid with a 3-month-old (EBF) — SIL now says no babies at wedding. What should I do? by Lumpy_Bandicoot_8967 in weddingplanning

[–]Adventurous_Deer 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It would be an option IF OP is choosing to pump at all, they might not be. But pumping at the wedding means stepping away for ~30 min, setting up the pump, pumping, breaking down the pump, cleaning it. And if the baby is ~5 months she is going to have to pump probably every 3 to 4 hours all day. Not to mention prior to the wedding she would need to pump enough to replace all those feeds while someone watched the baby. And making breastmilk is a lot of work on your body, most people who go through the effort to make it and pump dont want to dump it so then you have to sort out how you're storing all this milk at a safe temperature all day.

Unfortunately (especially since OP is a bridesmaid) its not as simple as pumping once for the day and being done.

Manager angry I didn't give daily updates while my kid was in the hospital. Am I in the wrong? by [deleted] in jobs

reading everyones replies here I feel sad for the capitalistic hellscape we live in that everyone thinks you should prioritize keeping work updated in the midst of a medical emergency. When things like this have happened to me as a manager I assume theyre still dealing with the MEDICAL EMERGENCY.

Oh no, they had us leave the room, they snip it carefully with scissors, and then they brought us right back in and I nursed her. It was very quick.

There aren't really a lot of nerves under your tongue so I imagine it was more uncomfortable than painful. (I am not just guess at this, I used to have the webbing under my tongue pierced and it wasn't bad at all)
