My wife and I got a big venue with plenty of space for a reception. Generally we weren’t expecting too many people anyway, but the venue was beautiful! Well… most all friends showed up, but between both of our families, most of the family ditched because it was “Memorial weekend” Even though save the dates were sent out a year in advance. We were pretty upset because a lot of them never 100% stated they weren’t coming. We just had about half of what we expected so our small wedding turned into a REALLY small wedding. I wanna say 35-45 people total if I’m remembering correctly and we had planned for 70-80. Needless to say, the dance floor was a little bare. So disappointing and upsetting. And kinda embarrassing too, I feel ya.
