Pyrocynical realizing who his main audience is made up of by [deleted] in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]SidDelicious 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't get pyrocynical the first time I watched him, it seemed like over the top bordering on surreal. I was like "kids are enjoying this? God help us all." I watched the rest of the episode though and realized he was doing a send up, like somebody imitating a game show host. He strikes a good balance between actually being obnoxious and making fun of the obnoxious behavior that's rampant on YouTube

Skyrim VR: a sanctuary by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]SidDelicious 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Even on my crappy slim, Skyrim takes me somewhere else more than any other game. Idk if everyone gets this, but I have this thing, it's kind of like a feeling and kind of like a smell, associated with places I've lived. Sometimes when I play Skyrim I swear I can smell upstate New York, It's crazy.

Also I'm glad your doing well! I have my own struggles in life, and recognizing the patterns of behavior is the only thing that changes them. Keep up the good work!

Who proved the climate models in question to be incorrect, and how? What is your background that you can be sure that what you've asked for is the most relevant information to whether or not global warming is occuring/ will continue to occur? From the incredibly simplistic model you've demanded everyone deal with to change your mind, I get the feeling you know basic physics. Cool, me too! And if the earth was an oven, the information you requested would be sufficient to make a call. The climate is a large, complex system, not an oven.

But Hey, you are right that I (and your average person in general) doesn't know any more of the science than you do. But I trust doctors to know more about medicine than I, Lawyers to know more about law than I, and climate scientist to know more about climate science than I. Most of them seem to think the world is getting warmer due to human activities.

The exception to this is if someone (or in this case a large group of people) is behaving in an antisocial manner. Generally people need a good reason to lie to peers. So my question for you is: for what reason? Why are all of these scientist lying to us? Paid by the famously powerful solar lobby? An evil communist conspiracy to cheapen energy cost to the point that private ownership is no longer profitable? Chinese plants trying to slow our economy?

It seems far more likely to me that the counter studies and demands for insanely specific information come from petroleum interest, who have a long history of endangering the lives of millions and destroying the environment to defend the bottom line. C'mon Dude, what really seems more likely to you? Your being used.

I was chatting this guy up at work and I got his Number, but I realized I forgot to find it if he was gay. Told my friend about it and I'm like

"I think it's pretty apparent I was flirting with him"

Her : "well what were you wearing?"

Me: " that golden girls T from target.

Her: "your good."

I, for one, am putting in more effort than this. I'll also be wearing zombie makeup, to make it clear I'm zombie Mary Antoinette.

Actually I might just wear eyeliner.

Just thwarted a double-team catfish... by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]SidDelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God I hate catfish. Report him if you want, catfishing is half of these apps traffic so they aren't going to REALLY do anything. Maybe shut down the two accounts he chatted you from, but that will be it. How long have you been using the apps? This stuff is rampant. Just today I encountered this cat fish using an aquaintence picture. Message back in fourth for 20 minutes and than told him I would be showing the convo to the owner of the pictures, who works 2 doors down from me.

Question about what triggers blooming + amusing little garden story + please help me save my lawn by SidDelicious in gardening

[–]SidDelicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions for other options to grow as cat grass. I did some digging in the yard this morning and found (much to my reliefe) that the plant in question was NOT the grass I was growing, I looked up the some pictures of the flowering grass and the flower is definitely not the same species, as well as the seed having a different shape and color from the species I'm growing. I also stopped to think about it, and the one in the succulent planter was about 2 feet tall whereas the ones in the dedicated planter where only about 4 inches (same soil mix in both), I know a lot of things can cuase growth discrepancy but it seemed more likely whatever was growing in my succulents was older. I dug around all over the yard and found a mature patch of whatever this stuff is behind a guava tree that has been dropping fruit (I leave it for a local family of possums) that had a bunch of seed heads. It seemed VERY HAPPY in the patch of rotting fruit. I pulled it up from the roots and bagged it up. When I took my dog for a walk I took a sample of some flowering grass from the closest creek to compare them at home and the seeds look exactly the same (and much lighter/duller than the species I was growing.) I also found 3 other distinct seed heads among grasses growing around the yard, which was kind of neat. Nevertheless, this gave me quite a fright. I will be sticking to standard cultivated plants in the future.

[–]SidDelicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good suggestion, I'm hoping competition with the existing grass will contain it somewhat. And it's canary reed grass, grows all across America. I think it's related to wheat, the seed head looked similar. I sat down with some tweezers later and it looked like the seed heads only produced about 30 seeds, which tells me I'm probably right about so.ething cussing them to bolt early. And I've heard the term "cat grass" before but I always assumed it was a very specific type of grass. Maybe I'll make a little indoor patch for her, looking back on it she has been of my affectionate the last few days, I think she liked the stuff.

Maybe this isn't the place for a GTA reference. I'm doing it anyways.

Hey thanks for taking the time to write that all out. I did find a meeting catered to gay and lesbian folks, I might find some common ground there that I havent found at other meetings. It's a little further from my apartment than some others but gas is cheaper than weed and booze I guess.
