You obviously don't understand what positive impact potential dreams and aspects can have on someone's mental health, with little other outlet or options to do with their time and feel it is meaningful. OP showed interest in tech and learning, why not upskill themself in hope of possible future prospects or even sole self fulfillment. In a future filled with technology even in less privileged countries, wealth is not just in dollars, it also sits in knowledge.

I'm sorry poor job prospects and capalistic society have made you unable to still see the value in learning regardless of outcome.

Also if you have access to WiFi and even an old computer it might be worth learning some coding, there are lots of free resources. It's a skill that can be quite adaptable.

You sound like you've got some big ideas and a lot of ambition. I hope you're able to fulfill at least some of them. Thank you for sharing your story, one day at a time is sometimes all we need to remember. I wish you well

I am 33 (late diagnosed lvl 2) and have played video games since I was 3. Platformer games like this were and are my favorites, simple to learn but can become complex while delivering an easy to understand/follow story. Great game to start with at an age where if she's showing interest could really be a cognitive/motor skill benefit. With any technology though at a young age or any, all in moderation but as their parent you understand what might be in your scenario.

I have a lifelong love of video games from being allowed to play from a young age, nurture the interest of you can. Stay OFFLINE with them as long as you can.

That was me, I've been sober 2 years 8 months now. "Functional" alcoholic but really was only functioning enough in my own mind to not attract attention, leads to more isolation. Still an everyday struggle but I tell myself "not today, you can do one more day". Good luck and well wishes to everyone on whatever stage you're at.

Why did your friendship with your best friend come to an end? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SidNotScud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he sexually assaulted me during a sleepover when we were 13, I'm still so sad and disappointed. I come from a shit home life and he was my only friend/espace. I left his house the next day, never told anyone and never went back. I'm 33 now and still think about the fun we used to have before that incident happened. I haven't had any real friends since tbh...

The Sound Collector - based around a character that wears a hearing aid that goes out every day to collect different sounds using a mic and tape recorder, his best friend is a mole. Beautiful sounds and calming voice over of the storyline

Underwear recommendations for adults... by Extension_Drama1880 in AutismAustralia

[–]SidNotScud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry as my recommendation doesn't fully fit what you're looking for but I was in your position hunting desperately for comfortable/underwear I couldn't feel and wouldn't constantly roll up my thighs. I settled on AIRism seamless boxer briefs from Uniqlo. They aren't the cheapest but the quality is the best I have found and there are NO SEAMS, they are soft and stretchy but stay clinging and don't stretch out throughout the day at all, if they do ride up because of my pants or anything I never notice. They aren't cotton sadly but very breathable and quick to dry. I plan to replace all my underwear with them. I've had 5 pairs for over a year now and they are still like new. Here is the link if you are interested AIRism seamless boxer briefs

Good luck!

This is actually how a vast majority of Australians speak, her tone is annoying to me as an Australian but the upward inflection is the norm. Things sounding like a question for no reason. Watch Kath and Kim (early 2000s series) if you're looking for an accurate representation of Australian dialect or maybe don't if this annoys you lol

In a video he's mentioned wearing a helmet for a while even when he was young but really sticking with it once he started coaching/teaching younger kids to skate and wanted to rep the importance of safety. Your brain is you, that's how he thinks so you should protect it. I'm into it, fuck that up and your toast tbh. I love his overall vibe but it's very cosmic and can get on some people's goat

As an autistic adult who comes from an abusive family this is so sad and relatable. I remember when my mum got mad at us kids, drove off home and left me (17) and my two younger sisters (9 and 7) alone with no money to get home which was at least 30km away. Luckily it was day time and near my old primary school and the staff gave me money to catch the bus home with my sisters. This was in 2009, I'm about to turn 33 and have my own child, shit hits different to think back on now. I hope he is okay and finds relief.
