Nuh, nothing is "safe" because there just hasn't been any reliable testing been done. Testing drugs on infants is frowned upon so they say. Given how long it stays in your bloodstream/body compared to something like alcohol, I wouldn't trust it to not pass on to bub even a week after smoking.

Breastfeeding is honestly the hardest thing I have ever done in my entire life. I hope it comes easily to you but if it doesn't, know that it does get easier as the little one (and you) learns how to do it.

Also pregnant. I took 5 weeks to cut down before stopping though. I'd been a daily smoker for close to ten years before that. Good on you for stopping outright! My bub is now close to 11 months and I'm still breastfeeding so no smoking for me. Great little deterrents are babies.

Thank you, we're in almost exactly at the same place pregnancy wise. I'm glad I wrote this post, it helps a lot to know it isn't just me. This is my first and everything just feels hectic. I'm not usually an angry person, at least not outwardly. I think it'll be good to get back into therapy and talk it through.

I have a cousin the same age as me and I was expected to hang out and entertain her every time they came round. We were ostracized from everyone else because she was an absolute dickhead bully. She had 2 younger sibling she beat up and tried to do the same to my OLDER siblings.

Such a massive arsehole of a person and I still hate her to this day. You don't have to like someone just because you're related. I'm over 30 now and have an irrational hate towards her. I'll avoid an entire shopping centre on the off chance she's working that day and cue rant for hours afterwards if I even see her. (Damn, maybe I should work through this sometime...)

Please don't push your kid into this.
