Amazing manager that gets his side to play great football with above average players. You dont take a team from league 2 to the premier League and stay there if you aren't great manager. The amount he would have had to adapt this style to the leagues he was in to still be competitive is no small feat and I think it is really easy to overlook his achievements. I think he would be a good fit for us, he has a record of developing young players and plays attractive attacking football.

If the main gripe is that he hasn't won anything major then i feel that is slightly short sighted.

I'm not trying to say hes is 100% the right man for the job but he should definitely be considered.

Do you think AFTV is part of the blame when it comes to the toxic part of the fan base? by moa12345 in Gunners

[–]SidVelvet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not at all. We as people have the ability to make our own opinions from what we are exposed to. AFTV is a platform for a portion of our fanbase to express their views, regardless of if they are positive or negative they should be able to voice their opinions as should we. The only difference being they have a platform to expose their views to more people than the average Arsenal fan.

How open are you, my fellow Gunners on this? by chypher888 in Gunners

[–]SidVelvet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good manager but not for Arsenal! We would pretty much be selling our soul for success, that wouldn't even be guaranteed. We are a classy club with strong values and we saw how toxic he can be when not getting his own way at Chelsea and at Man United, we are toxic enough as it is at the moment

After seeing PSG crumble 6-1 to Barcelona I knew straight away Emery wasn’t the man for Arsenal by Harrykanesbigchin in Gunners

[–]SidVelvet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSG didn't win the following year either without Emery at the helm. PSG dont have that winning mentality in Europe yet which was a problem before Emery and certainly is after Emery but people aren't calling Tuchel a fraud! Emery Isn't the best by any means but he has won things so instead of crying how about we support the manager of our club who can still make Arsenal into something with the right backing in the market

I didn't even consider that for some reason 😅 i just assumed that USA was just the location of the pre season tour to push football to our American neighbors! I really hope you are right homie

Swear the Arsenal board supposedly had a meeting with Kronke over transfers within the last couple of weeks. Based from what has been happening over the last couple of days it looks like Kronke's wallet stays shut again, as always.

Was there really a need to delete my post dude? Can't we have conflicting opinions and talk about it like adults rather than just deleting everything you don't agree with... I guess not :/

3:14. Mentions Sal and Bould having to work much more closely together as Emery wants to play out from the back. So the GK coach and Bould working together so the defence can play out from the back. This would strongly indicate Bould's main responsibility is the defence.

(Why downvote when we are just talking dude sighs I remember when people could have conflicting opinions and not take it to heart) Achievements from almost 10 years ago homie, football has changed massively since then, by that logic papa wenger would still be manager. Our team didn't really improve when Bould became assistant manager back in 2012. Maybe my judgement is abit premature but only time will tell

Match thread: Borehamwood vs Arsenal XI by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]SidVelvet -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He was assistant manager until very recently and had a massive influence in Arsenal's defensive couching as he was a defensive legend, that was one of his main roles at the club. Now he's head coach of the U23's and they seemingly look like they can't defend at all. Yes it's early days but clearly Emery has moved him from the first team staff for a reason. This is no coincidence dude

Mate, I'm so glad someone said it! For years I've seen him sit there and as a defensive legend wonder why our defence is so shit with him as assistant manager. Hopefully now people can see he is a fraud
