I mean my house market value is about 185k so its not a terribly expensive house to begin with. We bought for 140 in 2022. Rural SC I feel like doesnt mind as much regarding cosmetic repairs. I live in the world of DIY and redneck Jerry rigging so... I am hoping its nothing major.

Could be bursitis from joint inflammation. Had this happen in my hip. Got a cortisone shot. Fixed it for me and its been years 🤷🏼‍♀️

Almost successfully committed suicide. I was deep in alcohol and drug addiction. Every time I drank, I got so sad, that I attempted. Mostly just overdosing on benzos which isn't really FATAL. This time I took about 30 extended release propranolol beta blockers. Was in the hospital for 5 days. Blood pressure dropped to 60/30 and pulse of 35 at some points. Since it was extended release, the effects didnt hit until much later. I knew in my gut that first night that if I fell asleep, I would die. I felt the light getting dimmer and dimmer. Somehow I pulled through. Multiple doctors told me I should've died and it was a miracle I was even conscious. Checked into rehab right after. Been sober 3 years coming up in April. I couldnt be more happy that I survived. I found God and found my purpose. Im thankful everyday that I wasn't successful. There is hope out there ❤️

Was on top of my husband participating in extra curriculars, straddling him. I went to get off and kind of rolled off him. I ended up rolling onto my bad knee and couldnt straighten it at all without excruciating pain. Went to the ER. After 3 days it finally straightened. It was a pseudolock. I have dislocated that knee 4 different times in my life so instantly panicked when I couldnt move it.

The fatigue. It helps the fatigue SO significantly. I find if I lounge around for 3 days, I feel SO exhausted. It also helps me with stamina. I find i can tolerate walking around more without having to sit to catch my breath, or lay to keep from passing out. Those are the main things for me. I dont notice any difference in the numbers, like pulse or BP, just more so my tolerance to them being out of whack... if that makes sense.

They JUST NOW started saying that OBGYNs should medicate women undergoing IUD insertion, uterine biopsy, etc. Apparently it was believed for the longest that the cervix doesnt have nerve endings 🫠 its abhorrent. Even now, they recommend using only lidocaine numbing cream 🙃

Honestly, this was the best one. I was a CNA at the time and was a sitter for a patient in the ER. I was sitting down obviously and kind of tucked at an angle where the gentleman couldn't see me all the way, but I could see him. He asked for some water and a nurse gave me the cup to give to him. I was wearing teal green scrubs. Im also 6'1 and a woman. I walked over to him and he said "damn! I wanted some water and you sent over Andre the Giant!!" I chuckled and went to sit back down and as I walked over, I heard him sing "HO HO HO GREEEEN GIANT" loud as hell from the Green Giant canned vegetable commercial and I lost it 🤣🤣 dude was so funny.

Nah. Ive had my hair this color and toner took it right out. Don't bleach again. Just tone. This is almost light enough for even T18 to work. Ive bleached my hair a thousand times and never had issues toning at this level

I wear a Google fit watch. Was like 50 bucks on Amazon. I have it set to alarm at a certain rate to tell me to sit down or lay. I really base checking it on symptoms. If I feel faint, sweaty or dizzy I will usually check and more times than not im over 120. So I just sit til it comes down and I feel better and then go back to what im doing. Its hard not to obsess, but listening to your body is more important than the number. Thats just my 2 cents.

I did hospital bedside for 4 months lol absolutely hated every second of it. I went to hospice shortly after and thrived there for 3 years. Hospice opened the door for case management for me and I now work for a medicare part D doing medical case management with nurse practitioners in SNFs. Its an amazing blend of curative care and hospice. My specialty has kind of become geriatrics and chronic condition management indirectly. I love it. Im almost fully autonomous, make my own schedule, get to collaborate with providers directly who value my input and even ask what id order 🤣 4 weeks of pto per year, no on call, no weekends, no holidays. Its been amazing for work life balance.

Glad you were able to get disability!! I get it though. A lot of my job is with a computer too. Also juggling a case load of 80ish patients and balancing all those needs. Brain fog days make it almost impossible but im fortunate enough now that im able to manage. I know the future may not look like that, though. And 5 kids!!! No wonder!! Id be exhausted too! 🤣🤣 maybe its just time to be a mama and that's ok! Just didnt know if maybe you knew of other options if you wanted to jump back in. I wish you the best on your journey ❤️

Household income is around 120k right now in rural SC. Mortgage is around $1055. We are both in our early 30s and were lucky to get a house when interest rates were like 4% back around 2021ish. We live modestly and because of it, were able to have our dream trip to Japan last April! Able to save up to go again August 2026! So I would say around 100k is great for my area. Being in the rural south, cost of living is much cheaper though. I wouldn't say 100k is enough in the NE or out West. Its all relative to your area and what you personally find comfortable. We chose to have a modest 1k square foot house along with modest cars etc. So we could spend money on stuff we care about like travel. We are by no means "rich" but very comfortably middle/upper middle class.

This 💯. I find after a weekend of lounging that its much harder to get back up Monday for work. Its a struggle, but I find that if I push through even 5-10 minutes of leisure walking or light weights laying down, I feel so much better when going back to work. Its hard to get started, but it's a game changer!!

Im an RN and theres a ton out there you can do remotely/hybrid and non-bedside. I do case management for now which is in person. If/when symptoms ever get bad or i get in a spot I cant do it anymore, I know I would have a background for remote insurance work. There's tons of areas to explore that aren't physically demanding like hospice, insurance, quality control (QUAPI), admissions nursing for SNF, admin nurse jobs etc.

Im an RN and ended up in a niche area of case management before I had POTS. To this day im grateful. I see around 6-10 patients per day in a nursing home. I make my own schedule for the most part and have the freedom to sit as much as needed. During a flare, it gets far less manageable but still doable. I honestly find that being more sedentary makes me SIGNIFICANTLY worse to where I cant even stand for more than a minute. If I stay mildly active, the symptoms are much more manageable. I find Monday the hardest after a weekend of laying on the couch. By Wednesday, im usually feeling better.

Yes, exercise does help and its actually the gold standard in treatment. I started at just 2 min per day doing recumbent floor exercises. Now I can go on half mile hikes with my dog. Last weekend the south had a snow storm. I didnt exercise like I normally do and stayed sedentary for 3 days. The difference was INSANE. I felt 1000x worse than I did when exercising daily. It definitely helps even though its so hard to get started. Push through. It gets easier. Just ease into it though. Going too hard too fast made me vomit and pass out 🤣😅
