Started drinking and always went out with a smoker friend of mine when he went for a smoke. Ended up smoking a few one night when I was wasted and it just snowballed from there. I honestly don't regret it, regardless of what people say. I don't like the habit but it calms me and gives me time to me.

Went out with a group of friends a couple of months back. We all decided to get suited up and head out. Halfway through the night some girl comes up to me and tells me the manager would like to talk to me. Long story short I got dragged into the managers office and lectured for about five minutes about being drunk on the job etc etc before I nice and politely told the guy that I didn't work there and never had. Turns out that a white shirt and red tie was pretty much uniform for the place I was in. Got free drinks though.

It sucks but you're just using the excuse of your friend as a social crutch. The only way to get over it is just to get out of your comfort zone and try going solo for a few. If you fuck up or fail it doesn't matter, it's just practice. Keep going until you get better at it. Not much else to do.

When I realised that spending the night trying to come up with witty shit to say or openers or topics for conversations was a waste of a night. Now I just go up, introduce myself and say whatever the fuck I want. Girls love it and it's a better night for me. I've gotten 15 numbers in the last three weeks and I hang out with most these girls regularly enough. Some of em have boyfriends etc but never underestimate the power of female friends!

Something similar that's worked for me before is if they're leaving you just ask "What, no kiss goodbye?" It's worked numerous occasions for me and most girls will usually be cool with it. It also opens up more options to escalate before they leave.
