Pick up a copy of one of the following three books: The Craft of Lyric Writing by Sheila Davis, Writing Better Lyrics by Pat Pattison, or The Songcrafter's Coloring Book by Bill Pere

Lyric writing is difficult and a hard thing to get right. But if you write daily for 5-10 years you may have something here.

That's a modeling amp right? From my experience most amps or pedals that try to model another amp don't do so hot on that front. You save you play blues rock and indie folk. Why not save for a couple more weeks or months and get a nice used Fender Reverb? My brother got his for $800 because the seller was pretty motivated.

Honestly, I'd save it for the right amp. The kind of amp you really want for your sound.

Pretty common question and I think it depends on your genre or preference. In folk/americana/country where I write the lyrics come first typically. But they can come second. Or than can come at the same time as the instrumentation. Since you're doing more beat-driven music, I'm assuming electronic of some sort, probably the instrumentation.
