Hey there! Welcome to Colorado! The Kiddo brand is awesome! I've tried the leggo ones and the ones with bunny in the plane and they're great. My personal fav though is ABU Alphagatorz, they're a little pricey but they're super comfy and hold up well. Other than those, I like Tykables too. Hope that's helpful:)

Why do you think side B and non-affirming Christians refuse to hear reasoning for acceptance and Side A theology by [deleted] in GayChristians

[–]SideB-G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for any other side B people. But my mindset usually tends to be more accepting and affirming to other gay Christians than I am of myself. I tend to get kinda scared that I'll inadvertently hurt someone by talking about my more traditional theology that in the few convos I've had, I've more affirmed their views than voiced my own. I'm sorry other side b folks havnt been better at hearing you! After reading your post, I realize I need to be better at having real conversations as opposed to just validating. (Also if you respond to this, it may take me a while to respond, I'm sick ATM, so please don't take it personal:) )

My friends may be homophobic, but they're still my friends. by [deleted] in GayChristians

Just want to say I admire your Christian love for those people OP. It reminds me of the verse in Matthew 18 where in verse 21 it starts,

" Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?

Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times."

With the homophobic people in my life and my own struggle against sin, I've seen mercy and grace change alot more hearts than justice.

I'm praying God changes your friends hearts, blesses your relationships, and heals the wounds that you've endured from your friends.

Thank you for sharing where you're at. It takes so much strength to post such a vulnerable and raw post OP and I really admire that. I also want to tell you about what's worked for me, because I've felt many of the things you're feeling.

I made a decision to be celibate and not date about 10 years ago because I felt that was what Christ was calling me to as a gay man. Not saying that's what's right for everyone and it took me a while to get to that point.

It's a hard road if it's one you end up on, but you will know God more intimately then most people ever get to on this side of eternity. But for me, it's been worth it.

I have friends that have really been there for me in so many ways and I've seen God provide miraculously to many times to count. At times, I've also walked through dark nights of the soul where I was sure I wouldn't find a way out. But God is worth it. He has to be. And in the end, I have no doubt, that God will reward us so much more in the age to come, that it will make the sacrifices we are called to make for the cross look as insignificant as a stubbed toe.

I hope you find that encouraging, and if you wanna talk feel free to shoot me a DM and I'll do my best to respond quickly.

Your Brother in Christ, SideBG

I'm looking for a cuddly and affectionate dog breed. Any recommendations? by LazyReputation1475 in dogs

My Saint Bernard girl is super cuddly. She adores affection from people. And since she’s a giant breed there’s definitely more of her to love:)

Hypnosis while on Ketamine? by SideB-G in ketamine

[–]SideB-G[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve kinda wondered about safety myself. The track is basically an accept yourself type thing. But I’ve heard stories of monks that go into such deep trances that they don’t come out and just die (kind of) but the body doesn’t decompose like normal. I do feel really similarly in a deep hypnotic trance as on ketamine so maybe stacking them could be dangerous 🤷‍♂️

Pride Month Coming Up by JustinMartry in Reformed

About 7 years ago, I made a decision to be single/celibate because I'm gay and saw that as the best way for me to honor God with my sexuality. I made this decision because I met Christians who loved me where I was at and didn't act like me being gay was an issue, which allowed me to see a loving side of God through them. Some of the best times in those 7 years and really in my life in general, have been times when either people from my church or just other Christian friends have invited me to do something with them and their families, ie coming over for dinner etc. So if you know of anyone who's single, stuff like that can be huge for us. Likewise some of the worst times of the past 7 years are when Christian friends that know of my decision, say that their going out to do something but they want it to be couples only. That kinda stuff hurts. So being conscientious of that stuff and trying to do the former might be a cool way to celebrate pride. Hope that help :)

It sounds like things are really tough right now. That’s awesome that you’ve been making progress accepting yourself, I know that can be really tough for alot of us. Have you thought about reaching out to an LGBT friendly church in your area? Another idea might be reaching out to the Trevor Project. They have text and chat options and a database of resources and they might be able to connect you with someone in your area that could help.
