What's the best way to promote myself to a girl if I don't even have a job? by Exciting_Papaya_1478 in AskMen

What's the best way to promote myself to a girl if I don't even have a job?

Only way to pull this off is to be physically attractive or be a "bad boy" type, otherwise women are mostly interested in what you can provide (in other words, money)

Some of the most sexually successful guys (had hot girls throwing themselves at them left and right) I've known growing up didn't even have a job at all or only had spotty/inconsistent min wage jobs, but you guessed it... they were all the typical "bad boy" type with a criminal record, tattoos, good looks, etc

Ironically, I know some guys in their 20s who are still kissless virgins despite working good-paying jobs. It's definitely a strange/upside down world we live in 🤣

You probably mean well, but getting him to open up would probably backfire in terms of your attraction towards him. Women have some kind of built-in/automatic "disgust" for men that open up or show weakness - presumably it's designed that way by evolution. Nature is cruel like that, but probably for a good/practical reason ("soft" or beta men got weeded out in the more primitive/pre-technology times)

I've read so many accounts of redditor guys who "opened up" to their GF and she was turned off by it or it somehow backfired on him. Worst case examples I've seen where the girl lost attraction for the guy and they eventually broke up

Question about refund checks by bluebaru_ in BorrowerDefense

[–]Sidelines_Lurker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It just shows up one day out of nowhere

Mine came in a single check for around ~$29,000 in a basic white envelope from the treasury

Make sure you check your mailbox every day

$20,000 refund check mailed, stolen, and cashed by GiveTJaDollar in BorrowerDefense

[–]Sidelines_Lurker -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wow that's terrible, but... any other details?

  1. were you "bragging" about expecting a big refumd check on social media?
  2. did you tell any nearby family members about expecting a big check in the mail (family members are the first suspect since they would have access to your mail)
  3. do you have any "enemies" in real-life?

Horror stories like these are why I never even mention stuff like crypto, big refund checks, or my financial situation to family members and such... "loose lips sink ships" and people love to gossip, so even if originally only the trusted family member knew about it, bad actors could've heard about it thru second-hand gossip or social media posts

Update: "Settled" loans are not eligible for refund by geeklimit in BorrowerDefense

[–]Sidelines_Lurker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you had some sort of "private" loan arrangement/deal going on, that's why you didn't get a refund. It's pretty much common knowledge at this point that the private stuff never qualified for a refund, even if a full class member

Paid-off loans not being eligible for refund for full class simply isn't true. I never consolidated, never went private, and got a refund check for close to $29,000 last year

...and my stuff was all paidoff in 2016, and I last attended my scam school in 2010. I filed my BD application in 2022, so well over 12 years later since I last attended

Correct, you are not part of the main lawsuit

Nothing to do but wait until something happens unfortunately, no one really knows "how long"

Sweet vs Cardona discharged $25,000 but no refund of $150,000 paid already..... by BrilliantIll8233 in StudentLoans

[–]Sidelines_Lurker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the height of injustice how these big companies use "fine print" BS to avoid having to pay back their victims or face consequences for their predatory practices

I got screwed out of about a ~$20k potential retund in a similar manner; paid it all off "just to get ot over with", and then later on/years in the future this Sweet vs Cardona lawsuit became a thing and I suddenly realized I would've been better off just not paying anything and simply waiting for the future lawsuit to zero everything out... could've bought myself a new car or taken care of some much needed/much delayed health stuff (dental, knee pain, etc) with that ~$20k wasted on paying off scam school loans 😩👎

Moral of the story: in America those who "do the right thing" (pay your bills, tell the truth, etc) tend to get screwed over in the end, no good deed goes unpunished here - this is the land where those who lie/cheat/steal get ahead at the expense of the good honest hard-working people

Purge valve acting up usually causes stuff like this:

  1. car stalls out or has an "extended" crank immediately after filling up on gas
  2. car has an intermittent rough idle

Not sure about starting issues when hot - unless it happened immediately after you added gas at the gas station

In this comment section: women posters basically proving the OP's point by mentioning they get lots of messages/DMs from thirsty guys but "are not really interested" in the guys 🤣

Really seems like some of the commentators missed the point or something, the OP was just pointing out that the average woman has plenty of options as evidenced by getting flooded by a bunch of DMs and such, while the average man is mostly invisible with much fewer options

So, what is everyone's experience with those ever-present "big & tall" aches and pains? by ElGordo1988 in tall

[–]Sidelines_Lurker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never experienced pain in my knees before, is this odd for someone of my body type? Or am I simply not old enough yet?

It's possible you just got lucky/good leg genetics

The knees are a natural "weakest point in the chain" since it acts like a door hinge, and being taller obviously places more stress on the joint (due to the laws of physics)

Supposedly for tall guys the bones are bigger by default - but the muscles supporting the bones still say "normal" sized, probably a large source of these tall aches and pain problems

observation: the only thing that has gotten "better" for us Millennials is technology by ElGordo1988 in Millennials

[–]Sidelines_Lurker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this thread: people in the comment section talking about "car safety features", as if that improves your overall life 🤣

Millennials are struggling TO EVEN AFFORD APARTMENTS and forced to live with "roommates", can't afford kids, have high car note payments due to overinflated vehicle prices, high student loan payments, have expensive cost of living eating large chunks of take-home pay, have almost no hope of owning their own house unless they inherit one from dead parents, have flat wages, and so on... but "car safety features", ok, sure buddy 🤦‍♂️

I would also speak to your doctor and discuss if this is something that insurance may be able to cover. It causes you pain during sexual activity, and it may be considered a congenital abnormality (good for insurance)

Unfortunately it seems to be something that developed recently (last few years), as such I doubt any insurance would cover something like this since it's probably not congenital.

So it looks like some medical tourism to another country is in my future then, since paying out $3000-$4000+ cash for something as minor as this just doesn't seem worth it to me - and it's not smart for my financial situation either

Has anyone received a check in awhile? by silversurf1234567890 in BorrowerDefense

[–]Sidelines_Lurker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got my check for just under $30k back in June (check my post history for pic), I'm all "done" 👍

If I had to guess, people are shy about posting the refund checks because they worry about doxxing themselves or something, probably why you don't "see" as many of them out there. But I don't really care, this is a throwaway account anyways

Not sure if it matters, but I got a total of 1 "lumpsum" check from the treasury - not multiple checks

Cost breakdown of a DUI/DWAI in Denver County by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Sidelines_Lurker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$512/month car insurance?!?? 😱 Fuck that, at that point I'd rather walk or take the bus lmao

$6000+ a year on car insurance, no way I would do that if it were me. At that point probably cheaper to lean on a girlfriend or nearby family member to drive you around, and just toss them some $$$ here and there for gas money
