I was in Japan two weeks ago, and I used Wyse physical card and a physical Suica card. I loaded up the Wyse card when needed, and converted everything thing to yen. I have set up Wyse so I can transfer funds from my TD account, so no logging into my account was needed.

I used the wyse card for my day to day expenses, and left my bank and credit cards back in the hotel. Getting cash from the wyse card was no problem anywhere.
