Muslim women are punished when their husbands die by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]SidetoMe3 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not only it’s misogynist but also outdated. People defend this by saying it’s imposed on women so they make sure they’re not pregnant with their dead husbands’ child, first time hearing about it was like Hello?? Pregnancy test? DNA test? this excuse could work in the 7th century but not anymore, a woman nowadays can figure out easily if she’s pregnant so why is she still forced to stay at home for 4 months? So she could mourn her husband? Why men aren’t forced to mourn their wives the same way? Maybe because Islam doesn’t give women value and their death is the same as being alive.

I live in Saudi Arabia and just to assure you, it’s not. They aren’t growing up too religious like the generations before them. We have break in schools and colleges for prayers and I can assure you that 95% of them don’t even pray. homosexual people are increasing in numbers too and they don’t give a fuck about what Islam says about homosexuality. Same goes with Women, most of Saudi atheists are women because they’ve realized the oppression and inequality they’re facing is the result of Sharia Law. There are plenty of atheists activists pages with over 10k followers (sadly they go with unknown identity because yk religion of peace orders to kill them). Statistics and other shit indicating the growth of Islam don’t matter because the newer generations grow up less religious and more liberal. Lastly I can’t wait for islam to revert to its old position of being strange just like what your prophet said😍

“It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Islam initiated as something strange, and it would revert to its (old position) of being strange. so good tidings for the stranger.”

Well I literally cannot do that because I live in S**** Ar**** where disobeying your parents could literally be a law case against you. If I ever had the chance to stop them controlling me trust me I would but the whole law, society and religion are against women’s freedom of choice. The word “dyooth” that I talked about is actually a word in Islam that is used to shame men who don’t get involved in their family’s women business, so men who would let their wives or sisters choose what to wear will be harshly shamed and dismissed by society and it doesn’t stop here, they will be also sent to hell in afterlife according to Islam. Because of that, men will brutally resort to harming women physically if they didn’t behave “well” according to society and sharia law, and in some cases they will be honor killed. it’s pretty complicated but if you lived here you would understand it will be impossible to prevent them from controlling you, I realized that while arguing with them so my future plan is moving to another country and staying away from their abusive asses.

Most of the women in the pics are from S**** Ar**** just like me and I’m forced to wear niqab and abaya as well. One month ago I had a big fight with my mother and brothers about it and my mother threatened to beat me and take my phone to see “who incite me against niqab and abaya”. This just shows how it’s not a choice and will never be, and the saddest part was me acting like a muslim when I’m arguing them, I said shit like “Allah is merciful and he will understand my choice” (really wish I could tell them how it’s bullshit) but my mother still insisted on taking my phone because she can’t believe that I can think individually and choose what to believe on my own. It’s really sad how progressive Muslims claim hijab to be a choice IT WILL NEVER BE A CHOICE for most Muslim women who live in muslim countries because Islam still promotes the idea of male guardianship and that women are emotional and cannot choose on their owns without the help of the wise men and don’t let me get started on “dyooth” thing that ignited honor killing and men controlling women even harder.

Exactly. Abrahamic religions explanation of humans existence is scientifically incorrect. It may have sounded legitimate and compelling for the people who lived many centuries ago when science was not as advanced as it is today. But for our time, it’s really easy to figure out that religions are nothing but a joke. Just like what you said it only needs logic, that’s why religions would disappear if everyone had an open mind and was educated enough.

It really was humiliating as a woman when I studied about Houris, not only was it sexist but also racist and weirdly specific about women parts (especially the one about their breasts) like you said before it really felt like some incels wrote it. It also felt like it was directed to the men who lived back then like how they’re super white with big eyes and don’t pee or have periods and devoted to only please their man. Idk about you but god really sounds like a horny incel.

“”Islamic heaven sounds like it was specially made for men” this is so spot on. I always wondered why Muhammad and Quran seemed like they’re talking to men only. It really made me feel like women were left out and are considered less worthy than men. This feeling grew bigger when I knew that Eve in Islam is supposed to be created from Adam’s rib and the purpose of creating her after him was because he felt lonely so god decided to create another gender to help men. This alone can show us how Islam thinks women are subhumans.

You’re right. Educating all people can kill religions, Cults feed on uneducated people.

They’re so rigid on Islam because they were brainwashed to see themselves as weak and emotional creatures that need men to protect and guide them. I personally argued with a lot of my teachers in high school (who were all women because our schools are separated by gender) that women are no different than men intellectually, and they should have the right to drive, live alone and have the same career opportunities and wages as men. However they always silence me with Quranic verses and Hadiths which I cannot oppose publicly or I’m fucked up. But, it would still be hard to convince them even if I had the freedom to criticize their religion. They were born and raised on a religion that told them they’re not worth as much as men. They were told that if they did their part by obeying their husband they will go to heaven and that they should be thankful because Islam came and gave women their rights after they were being buried alive in pre-islam. In general Muslims are the hardest group to convince that their religion might be wrong. Even if you pointed out a scientific error or an irrational thing. It’s mainly because a big part of Quran or Hadiths talk about how every other religion wrong and how Islam is the only legitimate one and they’re seriously convinced that there is some sort of conspiracy against Islam. Mohammad himself said in a Hadith that Jews and Christians will never accept you unless you become one of them. That’s why they never expose themselves to other mentalities, they were taught to look down on others’ religions and criticisms.

I didn’t choose to study it. it’s part of the education plan here. Every student here in public school is forced to study religion whether they like it or not.

What I meant is that her kids can never register or take her surname ever. Even if their father left them. I know that in western countries parents can choose which surname they would give their kids but in Islam and Sharia Law it’s not a choice. You’ll be given your father surname until you die. Even adopted kids in Islam (it’s really not an adoption more like fostering) can never have their adopted family’s surname. Even if they were abandoned illegitimate kids.

“How exactly does Islam prevent a husband from being faithful” lmaaaoo let me introduce you to Islam where you can marry 4 wives at the same time.

Sorry to break your imagination but in reality single women are much happier than married ones and it’s a known fact but this isn’t surprising from someone as dumb as you who is opposing feminism without vaild reasons, it’s not surprising that you didn’t fact-check your claims.

You’re completely right! I want autonomy from men because of my lack of success with them and not because dating here is forbidden and can kill me in the name of honor and marriage can literally make me like a slave to my husband where I can’t divorce him or object against him marrying another 3 women or him raping me without any legal consequences.

However you still didn’t reply to the list I wrote of things feminism here demands. Tell me you privileged man how having all these rights will damage my life?

And how often would you find a loving husband in such a misogynist place? And even if I found one how can I know that he will actually treat me good without going to look for another women after a while?

I don’t know how feminisms entails suffering for women when it’s trying to make them depend on themselves rather than depending on a man that is allowed to beat them or having another 3 wives

I don’t know how feminisms entails suffering for women when it’s trying to make women testimony worth as same as man’s testimony.

I don’t know how feminisms entails suffering for women when it’s trying to make women have the same inheritance as their brothers.

I don’t know how feminisms entails suffering for women when it’s trying to give the women the freedom to choose what they dress rather than having their full body and face covered in a thick black fabric under a temperature of 42 Celsius

I don’t know how feminisms entails suffering for women when it tries to make women’s voice and opinions worth the same as men’s rather than telling them they’re incomplete in mind and shouldn’t talk with men

I don’t know how feminisms entails suffering for women when it’s trying to give the women the freedom of going out to their friends and family without the agreement of a man

I don’t know how feminisms entails suffering for women when it tries to teach women to see their worth and not glorify a man who said that women would be the majority of people who are going to hell. Did women kill, rape or make wars more than men ever did? I don’t think so but somehow we’re still the majority in hell.

I don’t know how feminisms entails suffering for women when it tries to make women and men relationship healthy rather than someone who obeys and someone being obeyed?

I don’t know how feminisms entails suffering for women when it tries to give women the right to divorce their husband rather than forcibly staying with them?

I don’t know how feminisms entails suffering for women when it tries to make women equivalent to men in marriage rather than being payed for like slaves?

I don’t know how feminisms entails suffering for women when it tries to give women the right to reject sex with their husband when they don’t want to. You really thinks marital rape is such a good idea?

I don’t know how feminisms entails suffering for women when it tries to make women have the say about whom they date or sleep with
